A must-have for any pumping mom!

These breastmilk storage bags are a must for any pumping mom! I was already using the Lansinoh storage bags when I purchased this product but I needed the pump adaptors that come included in order to pump directly from my Medela breast pump. The bags themselves are great. They are thick, leak proof, and have a double seal to ensure none of your liquid gold is lost accidentally. The pump adaptors just sweeten the deal by making it more convenient to pump without having to use a bottle to pump into and therefore saving you from wasting time transferring your milk and having more dishes to wash.

Adapter Doesnt work with Spectra S2 Pump

It was mentioned in the Question and answers that it is compatible with Spectra S2 pump but it doesnt fit the flange. though we like the storage bags it is not compatible with the Spectra pump makes the purpose of the buy invalid

Lansinoh's designs are well-thought out (I also prefer their nursing pads over other brands). One might think "it's just a plastic zipped bag" but the details in their designs are nice and easy to get used to, when you switch to other brands I notice a difference.
I found the gussets were nice and can temporarily stand on its own while filling up the bag (if transferring from pump bottle to bag), sharpie wrote well on the label portion without smearing onto the other areas, and appreciated the small extra detail of a "sealed" bag where the top has a perforated piece to tear off just before pouring milk into the bag. I also liked that it came with the adapter to pump directly into the bag when trying to pack light for the day. It worked well with my Medela hand pump, as well as Spectra S1/S2.

Let me start by saying I NEVER write reviews. However, I feel it is important for moms to be informed before trusting their precious milk to this brand.

I recently switched from Medela to lansinoh do the the fact that I was going back to work after maternity leave and wanted the convience or pumping directly into storage bags. I began noticing an ounce here or there missing from the bags that I had thawed. I didn’t think much of it at first. I though maybe I was tired and wrote the wrong amount. Today, I thawed a 4 ounce bag. I pulled the bag out of cloudy (milky) water to find nothing left in the bag. Curious, I put water into the bag and quickly realized that the bag had a hole in the bottom.

4 ounces went literally down the drain. Not to mention the other ounces here and there. Extremely disappointed that all my hard work was wasted.

This is the only brand I'll use. I've tried Medela brand and they leaked. These are totally fine as long as you don't over-fill them and you squeeze as much extra air out of them as possible before sealing them. By not over-filling them, I mean don't try to store more than about 5.5 ounces of milk per bag. I've not experienced a single leak yet and I've been using them for a couple of months. One bag did smell kind of funky when I thawed it so I threw that one out. But, considering I've thawed like 50 of these so far and only 1 had that problem, I think those are still good odds. Note: I lay the bags flat in the freezer to create "milk bricks" as they cool. If you freeze them without laying them flat, that may increase your risk of leaks.

I've always ordered this bag and had no problem. The last order I got, half of it had holes in it. You know how frustrating and exhausting expressing breast milk is, only for me to pour it in the bag and everything spills out. I've had to just toss the remaining and purchase a pack in walmart because I cant risk putting my expressed milk in another bag only for it to leak out. These are great for moms that make a lot of milk. Here’s a picture of a bag with 9oz in it - way more than the other brands will hold! The double zip top holds up. I don’t have a Lansinoh branded pump, but I still get these bags. I pump into bottles and bag them later anyway (pumping into bags with those adapter is not a closed system and I’m afraid germs may get in), so it doesn’t matter of my brand doesn’t match.

I have been using these bags for a month and haven’t had any leaks or issues. Switched from Medela bags and these are similar in quality for a much better cost. They are easy to store and thaw. They can be a little messy when pouring milk into bag from pump bottle because the flaps get in the way if you aren’t using a funnel. The adaptors are easy to use and work with my Medela In Style pump. If pumping directly into bag, the measurements on bag are not accurate, off by approx 1oz. Will definitely continue to use these bags.

Bags rips/tear easily!

I used these bags to freeze my breast milk for 5 months only to discover this week that when they thaw, they tear/rip open somehow. I’ve had it happen four times with 10 bags. That means 40% of the time, I lose the breastmilk because it’s frozen and can’t come out of the bag until thawed but as it thawed, it leaks. I’m losing so much breastmilk that I worked so hard to make for 5 months. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. I’m livid. The first time it happened I thought maybe i pierced it somehow but now it’s happened so many times that i think the plastic is so weak that when you pull two bags apart that were next to each other in the freezer, one rips. Never ever happened with my Madela bags that came with my pump. Should have just paid the extra couple of dollars and stuck with those. Sooooo frustrated to lose so much milk :-( Beware, mamas. We work so hard for our milk, don’t let it go down the drain with these bags!
