Another great book in this series featuring Paulson and Tallon. The story line of this book is so convoluted you will not have a clue about the protagonist until the very end. I highly recommend this book.
Hold on to your chair. You’ll go flying through this action thriller from the gripping dual murder that starts this tale to the shootout at the end. And if you’re a Dan Ames fan, you’ll quickly agree that “The Man Who Strikes Fear” is the very best of his first 9 Reacher reads.
Lauren Pauling finally sells her investigations business at a ridiculously dandy price and retires to be with Michael Tallon in the far west when she gets a call. An FBI agent she once worked with has been murdered. His wife too. Both stripped nude. Genitalia sawed off. Crucified in their home. And their blood was used to write “For Reacher” on the wall on which they were nailed. Horrible.
Lauren decides to help the FBI/NYPD team. Officially, she can’t. You bet she finds a way. Cleverly.
Meanwhile, Michael thinks he has accepted a $100,000 quickie consulting job in Australia. But he gets a taser, some chloroform, and a zip-tied ride to Georgia. Georgia? Yes, that’s where a financial counselor has just been crucified in his own home. Same killing style. Same bloody message.
What a mess. Where’s Reacher? What a mystery! And why do they wind up in Montana?
