5.0 out of 5 starsIncredibly stable and supportive for what it is!
January 4, 2017
Upon reading the instructions, I discovered that this bed needs to be inflated fully and then left undisturbed for about 24 hours before putting weight on it for the first time. I therefore inflated it, put a mattress pad and sheets on it, and didn't try to lay on it until the second day.

It is a very nice airbed. Maybe I got lucky, but it's holding air just perfectly. I love the built-in pump that can fill the bed (or empty it) in a hurry. The extra tote bag it comes with is a nice touch. The flocked surface holds the sheets on without slipping. My queen fitted sheets went on with ease and the fit was exact.

Considering it's a vinyl bag of air, it has a really solid feel to it. It still wiggles a bit from side to side when getting onto it or off of it, but the Dura-Beam construction does seem to stabilize it and offer some support. My two guests put about 350 pounds on it and didn't notice much in the way of air loss overnight.

I suspect that, over time, the vinyl will stretch a bit and there might be a tear or two, so I'm glad they included a patch kit. A quick tip for finding leaks: mix up some gentle soap and water such that you could use it to blow bubbles. Dribble it onto suspicious areas. Pinhole leaks will blow soap bubbles and you'll be able to see them. Just remember to let the area dry before trying to patch it!

1.0 out of 5 starsTERRIBLE QUALITY AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!
September 21, 2016
We purchased 2 of these to replace our current airbeds about 4 months ago. Upon receipt, we blew them up to be sure they had no defects, and they seemed to hold the air just fine at first. We used them for the first time last weekend, and 2 hours after inflating one, it was 50% deflated, without having slept on it yet. We refilled it, and during the night, it deflated about 30%. The second one did the same thing, during the night, with a 130lb sleeper, it was about 30% deflated. We refilled them both, and during the day of non-use, by evening, they were again about 40% deflated. During this night, same thing, so by morning, down about 50%. We then re-inflated them, did not use them and the next morning, they were 75% deflated. By the end of the day, again still no use, 95% deflated. I called Intex to see about replacing them, and because they have only a 90 day warranty, I was told there was nothing to be done, it was most likely just "stretching". I would not recommend these airbeds to anyone, so if you do purchase one, it is at your own risk, and I would highly recommend trying them out a number of times prior to the end of the warranty period. Poor customer service and very disappointed in the product.

1.0 out of 5 starsWhat A Disappointment!
June 25, 2018

I had an Intex bed that we used for three weeks for an unexpected guest. Later we were going to have 2 overnight house guests so I bought this bed and pulled the other one out and set them up the day before I needed them. The old one failed and I frantically ran to a local store to buy another Intex bed, set it up and and refilled just before use as directed. THEY BOTH FAILED AFTER ONE USE! I phoned the manufacturer and after waiting half an hour I got a representative that was less than helpful. Amazon was great about the refund - but I am really disappointed with the product!

1.0 out of 5 starsLeaks

I bought this air mattress primarily with camping in mind. I aired it up and initially it felt like a quality air mattress. Tough, thick material and surprisingly comfortable. I was disappointed to find out that it is leaky about 3 hours into the first night of use.

After barely a few hours of sleep, I woke up to the mattress being a little more than halfway deflated. The hole/leak is small and I can't seem to find it, but it is definitely there. I didn't use it for the first time until it was already too late to get a refund, so I guess I'm just out of luck and have to eat the money for a fault product.

If not for the leak, this would get a 5 star rating from me. It's comfortable when fully aired up, and the material seems durable, but it's useless if it won't hold any air.

1.0 out of 5 starsDo not buy this bed before reading all the negative reviews!
February 21, 2019
Style: TwinVerified Purchase
Like many other reviewers have reported here, these beds do not stay inflated. We bought 2 of them about 6 months ago and have only used them 2 or 3 times for our granddaughters. The beds kept deflating through the night and it was a real hassle. You would think the warranties would be longer than 90 days because we did not use the beds right away so I suggest you test them thoroughly when you first receive them. I tried to go to the manufacturer website but they won’t offer any support or replacements. We basically threw $100 out the window when we bought these and it’s obvious from the negative reviews that it’s a manufacturing defect! Amazon should stop carrying products that receive a lot of negative reviews or at least look into it.

1.0 out of 5 starsCrapshoot On Defective Item!
August 12, 2019
Style: QueenVerified Purchase
I've bought Intex products in the past and they've never really let me down. If they did, I always chalked it up to being inexpensive and never really griped about. BUT, this purchase REALLY pissed me off.

I'll start with the Pros...
1. The built in pump is very convenient. I've never had this feature in my previous mattresses and not sure how I'd ever not have it again. I had extra outlets in the tent and had it constantly plugged in. Only a twist of a dial it kicked on and filled the mattress quick!

2. The height (for camping purposes) was perfect. I could sit on the edge and feel like I'm sitting on a chair with 90 degree leg bend. A smaller tent might feel the squeeze of this large mattress due to the angling of the tent and height of the mattress.

3. The extra edge support (on this particular model) I believe was very helpful. It did seem to give more outward space on the mattress before the sloping and rolling off the mattress began.

4. It was relatively inexpensive compared to the other higher branded inflatable mattresses.

And now for the Cons...
1. Staying inflated! I bought this mattress a few weeks before my camping trip. I inflated it and used it for a few nights in a backyard experience with the kids before our big camp trip. Within those days, it inflated and felt a little deflated by morning. The instructions alerts buyers that this will be the case as the rubber gets broken into and stretches. Not a big deal, twist of the knob and the built in air pump fills it back up in about 10-15 seconds! So for that weekend, it worked great! The week of our camp excursion we were not so lucky. The mattress inflated, nice and firm, went to bed but in the morning we were like meat in a taco shell. The mattress was more than 50% deflated and we were crammed together and the sides enclosed on us. I'd fill it up, 2-5 times a day (depending on how often we sat on it) but each night it was very painful.

2. The box the mattress came in was compact and perfect for transporting. The bag they give you is HUGE! you could just cram the mattress in the bag without any neat folding or skill. Took up way too much room so I took a few extra minutes to neatly fold and suck the air out of the mattress to get it back into the original box. I returned the mattress but not sure how long the box would have held up to that kind of packing each use.

3. No patch kits provided! My friend who also brought his family on this camp trip and bought a similar intex mattress (cheaper version) came with patches, but the one I bought (more expensive) didn't! To be honest, being the first few times using the mattress, I would have returned the item regardless of patch kit or not but long term, I would have love to have that kind of kit.

4. Before buying via Amazon, I was going to buy the mattress at a local retail store (walmart/target/meijer/etc.) however ALL of them will NOT return used inflatable mattresses, not even exchange! They have a sign/notice right in front of them that says you have to contact manufacture after purchase. I'm glad I didn't take the chance by buying there because I hear Intex has horrible customer service!

Well, take it for what it is, but these are my experiences and thoughts on the item. Wasn't ideal to have a faulty mattress during our trip but I would probably give Intex other tries in the future. Their price is just unbeatable!

1.0 out of 5 starsOnly good thing was I didn't have a backache
September 28, 2018
Style: TwinVerified Purchase
Sleeping on this was like sleeping on a water bed. Felt like I was floating. Maybe due to being higher than just on floor, but it wasn't a good nights sleep. Filling it up was great. Adjusted firmness after laying down and thought I was set, but then the floating feeling started. Says holds up to 300 lbs. I'm less than that but not a skinny mini. I really should have just gotten up and slept on the sofa, but thought once I go to sleep I'll be fine. Then I rolled over and got a little close to the edge and thought I'd flip over, moved to stop that and almost went over other side. Higher off floor is easier to get up than off the usual low mattresses but difficult with the feeling going to flip mattress over. Didn't want to give up on using this. I got it so I didn't have to sleep on the sofa when went to stay at my daughters to sit my granddaughter. Just one night a couple times a month. I got up in the morning and felt like I'd been on a boat with the woozy after feeling. Only thing I can say is I didn't have the backache which I get from the sofa. But I have the return label printed and will get it sent off and credit back to my account.
I read reviews and thought this would be a good mattress with a great price, but guess really get what you pay for.

1.0 out of 5 starsRockin and a rollin...but no sleepin on this thing
July 22, 2017
Style: TwinVerified Purchase
This thing is absolutely horrible! It's like trying to sleep on a rocking chair on a ship on a stormy ocean. It is so unstable my poor sister who tried to sleep on it rolled off after just seconds and hit her head badly. Not believing it could be as bad as she said I finally tried it and no matter how much air I input or took out, this thing rocked and rolled like Buddy Holly. They should not be selling this item...it is dangerous and an accident waiting to happen! Unfortunately it was a couple of months before we tried it and they won't take it back. Buy everyone should know how truly terrible this so called bed is! Don't buy it!

1.0 out of 5 starsTry a different brand Intex has bad customer service if you have a problem
October 7, 2019
Style: TwinVerified Purchase
The first 4 times I used this bed it was AMAZING! Easy to inflate and very comfortable. I used it as an extra guest bed and when I traveled out to state to a friends house I brought it with me as my bed.
I tried to do that again last weekend, it would only be the 5th time to use it. I discovered it must have a slow leak, I woke up at 4am nearly on the floor. I inflated it again and slept the rest of the night, and work up at 8am nearly on the floor again. I've been really careful with it. It's always been used indoors and never up against anything. I understand that things don't last forever, but I expected to get more than 4 uses out of this purchase.
I called Intex just now to ask about a replacement. Surely they expect their product to last longer too, right? Nope, the purchase wasn't within their 90 window. They will do nothing to help me. I said, but it's only been used 4 times, and I really like having an inflatable guest bed option, am I just supposed to throw it away? I guess. Not sure where else to go from here.

1.0 out of 5 starsTwin mattress has defect and loses air
October 31, 2016
Style: TwinVerified Purchase
I purchased a twin and queen sized air mattress in July 2016. We have had no issues with the queen mattress, but the twin will not hold air through the night. The instructions say it may take a few times of using it before it will correctly hold the air. We have used it 3 times since the end of July (it is now the end of October) and it still will not hold air. It loses about half of the air through the night. We attempted to return it on Amazon.com (as it is sold through Amazon.com and no specific manufacturer is listed) and Amazon says it is beyond the return date. I am frustrated as these are not inexpensive air mattresses and I purchased them based upon the reviews. We haven't had any issues with the queen mattress, so I am assuming the twin has a defect. The mattresses are very convenient as they each have their own pump and quickly inflate. They are comfortable overall. If I could get the twin replaced, I would give the air mattress a 5/5 star rating.
