I was interested in checking out
Marie Claire (2-year)
after watching the TV show "Project Runway." Imagine my suprise when I found a two year subscription on sale for only $7! What a deal! The magazine is chock full of fashion, both affordable and haute couture. I really like the fact that so many prices are listed for the various items shown in the magazine. Two thumbs up!
Marie Claire has to win "Most Improved" for magazines over the past few years. For a while it seemed as though the magazine wasn't able to keep up with the latest trends or at least wasn't able to portray trends in a way that appealed to its long time readers. Thankfully, things have turned around! I have a magazine obsession (about 10 subscriptions or so), and Marie Claire is in my top 3. If you're looking for a magazine with a focus on fashion and beauty but with a nice mix of articles, then this is the perfect choice! Also, a subscription is much more cost effective than buying each issue in-store, and it's always so exciting to come home from a long day at work with this little gem in your mailbox.
This is not your trashy beauty magazine. It has insightful articles, book recommendations, simple interviews, and of course beauty and style all in one. It also covers such things as politics but in a clear and concise manner. I really like this magazine. And i'm not embarassed to read it on the Subway because it doesn't have trashy or tacky sex articles like some other magazines. Marie Claire is a very mature and insightful magazine that provides good reading, nice pictures, and different opinions.
I've been reading MC for several years now on my e-reader, but as I've aged, my eyes can no longer read the magazines on an e-reader, so I've switched my magazines back to print. Books still work on e-reader, but not magazines. So glad MC is still available in "Vintage" Print! Thanks MC, and thank you Amazon for the great price!
