Merlot and avocado trees. I loved this movie and watched it three times. It reminded me of another movie " Waiting to Exhale" I loved the dynamics between the girls. I am a sucker for a movie about friends. I guess deep down inside I am a hopeless romantic. Romance movies are my favorite! I will watch this again and again!
Rare well-written, realistic and meaningful love story. Three completely written life and love stories with lots of interesting characters. The men are more of a supporting cast although they are all well acted. This is truly about women discovering and knowing what they want.
I enjoyed this more than I expected. The first 20 minutes I wasn't sure I'd finish it as it seemed very superficial but it got much more down to earth thereafter. The friendship among the women was well portrayed and that gave the movie its true heart. It is almost like a black casted Sex and the City. I loved the portrayal of Nandi and Thomas' relationship and how it resolved. So refreshing seeing a movie about black female friends who are beautiful and successful who love and support each other through thick and thin!
I really enjoyed this movie. I liked the love was messy but enduring. I loved the friendships and how they could be honest with one another, yet remain true friends. For me, it was less about the romantic loves and more about the friendships. I liked the richness of the cinematography. For once, it looked like the people with money, actually had money.

What a beautiful film. The story explores ideas that most women face in marriage and friendship. The chosen venues and occupations for this movie happen to be very upper-class. (It is good to see this part of African culture. As in all countries, there are a variety of lifestyles.) Additionally, the people, scenery, settings are also very lovely and part of the enjoyment. I don't normally rewatch movies, but I would view this one again.

Lovely movie with dimension. I was reluctant to watch because I thought it would be the same old "Dramedy"...with silly women, stupid men and bad acting. Not so. Well to be more precise - the actors were all very good. Yes, the storyline was a bit pat; girlfriends, boyfriends, lost husbands, cheating and hard choices. However, the dynamic actors/actresses performed at a higher level which elevated the "same ole storyline" to something worth watching. Beautiful people, beautiful location and very professional production for a lovely movie with dimension. peace.
I thought this movie was fantastic...it showed the karma of choices..ultimately it showed that you can always choose again for your own happiness. That you can turn things around it is up to you. It's not like they tried to teach us that you will be forever condemned for making mistakes. Afterall this is how we learn through experience...well written. i would recommend it...
I wasnt sure what to expect but I'm so glad I watched this movie! It was interesting, with each lady having her own great story line. I loved that they were real with each other, because your good friends should be able to be honest with you. I was talking back to the screen, which lets me know I was fully engaged in the plots. The segments where a 4-letter word that moved the plot along was flashed on the screen, was brilliant! I loved the style and diversity of each of the ladies and appreciated how they were differentiated from head to toe, without there being more focus on any one more than the other...they were different and all beautiful still. Oh, and their shoes, OMG! If I could just get their shoes from this movie.....
