This would have been pretty cool, but the shape of where the plug to your electrical outlet is supposed to fit is rectangular. My plug on my Sync is pretty much square, so this would not work for my Sync module. Shame as I like the idea.
The mounting is a simple tapered friction hole, which is molded into the plastic device, but has too large a diameter to stay on the electrical plug. The entire mounting will simply slide off the electrical plug if mounted on a wall outlet. I ended up mounting it horizontally on a line conditioning surge protector. If you wish to use this on a wall mount, you may have to secure the plastic device to the electrical plug with electrician's tape to keep the unit from simply sliding off the wall plug.
JUST ABOUT AS BAD A RING DOORBELL WIFI PRODUCTS... you will need to disable EVERYTHING on your router (VPN on router/phone, any MAC address restrictions on WiFi network, router's firewall, etc) in order to get the sync module to connect to the Blink servers (during initial set-up). Then, it will eventually just start disconnecting on it's own, and you will need to unplug-it/plug-in every other day or so to get it to connect again.
BUT, if you try and delete the sync module and start over, it will NEVER connect to the Blink servers ever again, it will just come back with "failure to connect, check your password", even though I never changed any of my passwords since the last time I got it connected (and I can see the connection sending/receiving packets on my router).
Apparently these are "known" firmware issues that are NEVER fixed. I would NOT recommend the Blink or Ring WiFi products unless you love tearing your hair out with the frustration of getting these things connected, and staying connected to your home network. I how have several hundred dollars of products that are TOTALLY USELESS (and their support sucks!).
I didn’t like this product because everytime I rebooted my router I have to reset the cameras back to default settings and giving me always a hard time and also time consuming specially if you need a ladder to get and put it back the camera where I place. And now I give up and also I changed the battery three times already for less than a year of using it..
Why I gave it a 3 star: Could use a little more support when plugged into a socket, as the unit slides away from the holder when you try and secure it better at the wall outlet. It keeps everything in one place without the electrical wire hanging everywhere, so it's all good! Maybe an upgrade where the plug slides into the unit and be a bit tighter.
I'm not sure where are all those good reviews coming from. The cheap plastic used makes the plug holder loose and it doesn't stay in place. I had to use some extra tape to make it more firm. I think someone else mentioned it here, that it is a kind of product that should be sold at 99 cents store and for that price.
Guess I should've read the description because for the price, should've included a charger. I purchased this because it was labled as Amazon's choice. Bought 3 of them! Exhorbantly overpriced for just a holder and cable. And, too, the holder doesn't keep steady on the charger. Module is secure but the bracket is not tight on the charger I received with my camera kit. Might want to look for others that are similar but cheaper.
