Excellent quality and easy to use

Excellent pressure cooker. Easy to use. It is clear that this pressure cooker is very well made and I love the fact that it has a stainless steel inner pot and not non-stick Teflon. At this introductory pricing, one can buy 2 and still have money left over vs buying the most popular brand here on Amazon. Most pleased.

Update 5-16-2015

After using this pressure cooker at least 3 times a week, it still performs beautifully. I especially like the egg function. 3 min on the high setting makes hard-boiled eggs with the yellowest yolk and set-but-still-tender egg white. No dark sulfur rings at all and best of all, it is so easy to make. I have also used the pot-in-pot technique to make dishes directly in the serving dishes (basically using the pressure cooker as a high-pressure steamer) for stews and oatmeal and they came out perfect as well. This method allows me to cook different dishes consecutively and cuts down on the dishes to wash. :)

One great thing about this electric pressure cooker is that is is absolutely quiet when cooking and emits basically no vapor so your house is not filled with the smell of whatever you're cooking. Can't say the same thing about the stove-top pressure cooker or the slow cooker.

This pressure cooker should not be used as a canner as the pressure changes during the cooking process. It is not designed for that.

I'm very pleased with the initial quality of this pressure cooker and I hope it is built to last.

Update 7-6-2015

The pressure cooker is still going strong. I have been making yogurt with this. It can accommodate 7 8oz mason jars. I just mix some store bought yogurt and milk and pour the mixture into the jars. Add luke warm water to the pot until it almost reaches the level of the milk in the jar. 12 hours later, I have really tasty home made yogurt. Much more economical than keep buying yogurt plus I know it has no additives. :)

Update 6-29-2016

This pressure is still working great. Average use is maybe 3 times a week. I did buy an extra inner bowl and an extra silicone ring so that I can separate meat dishes from non-meat dishes to avoid interfering of flavors/smells. I also use the inner bowl directly on my gas stove to brown meat/saute vegetables before I proceed to use the pressure cooker for stews or soups, etc. I also use the inner bowl as a regular 6-quart pot on my stove. I hardly ever use my stove-top pressure cooker since I got this since I do not need to baby this thing while it is cooking.

Died on second use

I was so excited to get this, love the size! Great for parties. I used it once for chili for a big party, worked great.

I had a St Patrick’s day dinner party for 10, loaded the pot, turned it on, cooked for 5 mins and died! I can’t tell you how upset I am. I had to separate everything and put it in 3 different pots to cook it. What was planned for 20-30 minutes of cooking, now took 1-1/2 hours. Luckily my guests were very patient!

I also noticed the valve on top for pressure or steam cooking is not holding very well.

Not sure I will want another one of this brand, but will try one more (I purchased the warranty).

For it to die on the second use is quite disappointing and frustrating!

2 failures. First one Amazon replaced it failed before 30 days actually the second use. The replacement failed after the 30 day window, had used it 4 times. Contacted GoWise and they said I would have to pay shipping to return it. I checked shipping cost and determined after 2 failures and high shipping cost to return it, this item was for the trash can. I replaced it with an Instant Pot from Amazon, it has worked many many times with no problems, I love it.

I bought this in January (it's now June). I used it maybe 6 times. It completely died during a 5 minute steam cycle. I emailed the company and never got a reply. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I replaced my broken GOWISE USA with an InstantPot duo plus like I should've done in January.
Only one star because I can give it 0 star

Two Quit working in less than 2 years

I bought this 14qt June 2018. This was the second one from this company bc my 1st one stopped working within 2 years. So now 17 months later this one will not contain the steam no matter how much I ensure the pressure valve is on, so it’s no longer usable. I am so incredibly upset after spending over $250 (2 bought) for this brand for them to not even last 1.5 years! I loved the size but I will not be purchasing Anything from this brand again. I had also purchased a GoWise air fryer months ago and the handle broke off after a few uses??!!! Horrible customer service & the products are very poor quality. Skip the frustration and just buy name brand.

Worked for 1 year - Just Outside the Warranty Period

For 1 whole year I have cooked meals easily after returning home from a long day at work (1.5 hours commuting each way and working 9-12 hours). It was a dream come true to be able to eat a hot freshly prepared meal and have dishes done before 10 pm. But, 2 months after the manufacturers warranty elapsed, I find myself with a pressure cooker that will no longer pressurize. The steam pours from around the handle and any other point it can force its way through. I have been EXTREMELY gently in caring for this appliance, as I recognized my dependence on it. I am very disappointed and in the market for a new one, but I will be going with a different brand and hopefully won't be back in a year trying to replace another one.

Waste of money

I've had this instant pot for several months and dislike it more now than I did in the beginning. The programming takes some getting used to but by far the worst feature is clean-up. The seal and pressure valve come out regularly but getting it all back together is almost impossible. I've been successful at getting the deal back in but haven't been able to get the pressure valve to work right ever since it came out basically making it a standard slow cooker. I've consulted the book, internet and website with no success. It's going in my next yard sale. Don't waste your money, time or sanity on this device

Saute setting a real problem, can ruin a planned dinner

the pressure cooker does not work when you use the sauté setting. After browning on the sauté the setting wont allow you to go to another setting. I tried cooling the pan, and it was only after about 30 minutes that it would go off the setting and allow to go to pressure time. It burned my recipe twice. I contacted the manufacturer, and advise them of my complaint and was told to just unplug it for a wait for it to cool. I would not recommend anyone purchasing this product. Manufacturer did not stand by the product which has been a problem as indicated by the reviews which were similar to my problem with the pressure cooker. Amazon handled the complaint and was very gracious in remedying complaint.

14 quart would not hold pressure all it did was leak pressure the whole time it should be cooking.

Very sad bought this to cook my thanksgiving turkey it could not pass the water test.
Would not hold pressure called the manufacturer they sent me a new pressure release knob.
It didn’t help had to send it back to amazon for a replacement.

Got my replacement 14 quart from amazon it done the same thing would not hold pressure could not pass the water test.
If it can’t hold pressure with just water it will not cook your food.
My turkey had to be cooked in the oven sending it back to amazon for a refund.

Loved it while it worked for first three months then ...

Loved it while it worked for first three months then right before Thanksgiving it stopped working. Called and was told to ship back to manufacture that was 18. Out of pocket then they looked at it and it was defective so was told they would send new one. This week i receive an 8 qt no lid no insert. Mine was12. Call again and im told till they get the wrong one back they won't ship the correct one. So disappointing!!!
