After one week my dog went to the vet with an intestinal blockage. Vet said that he sees this often with these chews. They are meant to be well chewed as the chews are very dense. If your dog doesn't take the time to really chew them (as most dogs don't), then it can end up getting stuck in their system.
Beware! Check contents before giving these to your pets. Found fuzzy white stuff all over the greenies and a ton of bugs crawling around. Never had a problem with these until this last batch. I threw it away immediately but I should have checked the expiration date.
These are the right size for my little Shih Tzus, but they don't seem to like them as much as the Petite ones. I wonder is the flavor different in some way. I got the Petite first thinking they would be the right size and missed the Teeny ones. So, when I ordered again, I got the Teenies. For some reason, my dogs don't like them.
My 6 year old poodle loves these and begs for one every evening after her meal. I've given her the size recommended for her weight. She never misses a day. She's always had healthy teeth at her vet visits so what a surprise for me to find out that she has terrible gingivitis and bleeding gums at her last visit. Bottom line, some dogs find these tasty, but based on this one case, they do not prevent gingivitis. Also, based on previous reviews I'd not seen, they are often sent near or past the expiration date. I never checked, so who knows, maybe that is the problem.
Thank you for your review. We're so sorry to hear your 6 year old Poodle had Gingivitis at her last check-up. We'd appreciate the opportunity to learn more, so please call us at 800-833-5330. Thank you.
The packaging was intact and all but when I opened the box I found that the greenies were stuck together and wouldn't break apart (even when I tried smashing them against the concrete). At some point they must have been moist that they had become so cemented together. It is a struggle trying to pull one at a time out of the bag and they break apart. Not exactly what I wanted.
I've ordered Greenies two times now and both expire within a week of receiving them. I sent the first one back and won't see my money for 4-6 weeks. Guess I have to do the same yet again. Spend the extra dollar at the grocery store to be sure they aren't going to expire before you can use them. I don't plan to feed my one dog 30 greenies before they expire on the 4th.
