Real Kanken, and very happy!

I've heard a lot of things about these bags being fake, however, I ordered the warm yellow one and I checked all the signs for it to be real and they were all good. This specific one is from outland usa, and while I can't say that anything else is real and not fake, the bag that I got from them is the real one. Some people have pointed out signs that makes it real, so I'll write them here too:
- it has "Y K K" written very very small on the side of the zipper part that actually goes through the zipper, NOT the zipper tag.
- on the underside of the button, one of them says "WASA6" and it was printed how I've seen genuine buttons to be.
- the fox button looked like the one that is real; it is darker and smoother
- the logo on the front IS reflective! this took me a while to figure out, but if you take a picture of it with flash on then you'll see the reflectivity.
- the bag material doesn't feel like canvas, but isn't placticy either. it's "polyvinyl alkohol".
- the bag material is fairly thick.
- the handles on the top have a thick band, and have a deep weaving rather than a smooth and shiny one that you'd see on many fake ones.
- it came with a small fjallraven kanken slip that showed me the other bags.

I hope this helps anyone trying to buy the warm yellow or anyone trying to see if their bag is fake! I'll attach photos.

PAID $75 FOR A FAKE!

I almost don't want to write this review because I don't want to bring down the rating of the actual product, but this might help someone else so...

I've been traveling a lot lately and really wanted a new backpack because mine is so uncomfortable. Saw a bunch of guys at the airport wearing
Fjallraven Kanken Classic Backpacks and I fell in love with the design so I checked them out on Amazon as soon as I got home. Saw that a lot of people were getting fakes, but I figured that it wouldn't happen to me. People usually sell fakes for way less than what the real product is worth, and I was paying $75 for my backpack... so surely I was getting the real deal, right? WRONG.

I was appalled when I opened up the package of my brand new $75 backpack and noticed that it looked like something you'd get from the dollar store. Whoever faked this went through great lengths to make it look like the real thing, all of the zippers had the right designs and initials... the tags were printed in the right colors and with the correct text, it even had the swedish flag thing. But some things did stick out as obviously fake. I hope that this will help you guys:

- the dimensions were slightly off, smaller than the classic pack but bigger than the mini.
- the canvas of the backpack feels really flimsy, like a cheap backpack.
- there were a lot of frayed strings, both inside and outside
- the stitching is clumsily done
- the paint on the zippers is already chipping
- packing was Chinese (dead giveaway) -- item was shipped from the US so there is no reason for it to be in Chinese
- has some tags that are written in Chinese (dead giveaway)

Very Practical, Price is Questionable

This is the original Kanken. At least mine was. Gets dirty really quickly and hard to wash out since it’s waterproof. I recommend getting a neutral or dark color. Besides that, it’s a good size. Fits my 32 oz Hydroflask and a camera and it sits high on your back so good for walking long distances or school, but only if it’s a few books and binders in there. That stuff takes up a lot of space. Great for biking too because it’s very light! Very practical but wish the price was not so steep. Maybe it’s just because it’s a Swedish product.
