what happened to the quality?

Just received. Have previously bought several FINTIE kindle cases. This one is not like the others I have. 1.) the case itself is about 1/4 the thickness of previous and feels flimsy. 2.) the edges are no longer soft, rounded and stitched, but instead have a ledge of thin, molded projecting plastic. Think paper cuts. 3.) the "cradle" it rests in is thin plastic, covering 3 edges rather than soft, padded leather surrounding 4 edges. It pops in rather than velcroing in. So, it could just as easily pop out. 4.) The screen surround isn't as deep. Just barely there. Not enough to protect it. I have 4 working kindles out of the 10 I have purchased. I have dropped them. I am expert enough to assure you that this is not what you are looking for. 5.) the spine (what bends when you open and close your kindle) was the entire length and thickness of the cover. The new one has deep divets cut into that portion that covers the edge which is like the back of your book. This means that 2 corners of your Kindle are completely exposed save for thin plastic which will easily crack and/or disgorge your kindle. Truly. I am the world's leading authority on dropping your kindle. The cases with thick, leather extending well beyond the corners of my kindle have saved it. You can look at my cases after some drops and see it. Move along. Nothing to see here.
