Having made the mistake of not getting a case for our last tablet, my son - also known as the Destroyer of Worlds - managed to shatter the iPad Air 2's glass front in about 2 weeks of use. Not so with this new tablet with the silicone case. The thick edge and textured back makes it less likely to slip from his ever-so-destructive hands.
As an aside, it seems like a little thing, but the charger port opening is cut like a trapezoid to make it very easy to know which way the charger cable goes in, which removes the guess work when trying to plug in the charger.

I was very surprised how much I dislike this

I own or owned a million devices. I bought a billion cases to fit all the devices. I never had a single problem and never returned anything. I was really surprised that my fist dud was this case and that it was Finite product. I have a home full of Finite cases and love the company. This protector however is going back immediately.
First, I expected this to be squishier silicone - the very soft stuff that feels great in the hand. This honeycomb material is not that soft silicone. It is much stiffer than you would think. Because of this, the tablet feels absolutely awful in the hand. It does not make me want to hold the Tablet. This material makes me want to set it down quickly. It's the first device case I have ever gotten where the textures were so rough and uncomfortable that it turned me against holding the device, The ridges you across the sides are the worst, and inevitably made this case a deal breaker. You can't hold the tablet with one hand (like a paperback book or other continuous textured device) because the ridges dig in and are an irritant. These ribs make this pretty heavy case a burden instead of delivering comfort and confidence. No hit against Finite - hell, I'll probably order another one of their iterations to replace this.
Don't be fooled by the pillowy looking material the photos suggest. Your devices are supposed to feel like an extension of your hand. Holding this case is like holding rough, coral rock. You will constantly be looking to put the Tablet down, and would create dread that will eventually lead to less use and abandonment.

I just received this and I absolutely do not like this case! It makes my Kindle much heavier, there's a lil around the edge of it making it uncomfortable to hold. I will be returning this item!

Over all it’s not too bad of a case. My wife likes the color. I think it could be a little of better fit seams to be a little lose but still gets the job done.

It seemed fine to me before my kid dropped his tablet onto a carpeted the floor from the height of the couch and broke the screen. I'm not sure if the case should have prevented that or if the glass on the fire tablets is that weak. My other kid has had the fire HD 8 for a year, and has thrown and dropped it all over the place and it's fine. Maybe the kids edition cases really are better for protection.

Corners are not that thick for shock absorbency, I don't feel that the depth of the case is sufficient to protect the screen.

Wish it had a front cover to fold over kindle for protection. But I like the feel and quality of it. It is washable also. Very nice I love it. Thank You

It is just too thick. The material is durable, protective, and attractive. It fit the tablet perfectly. But, I was hoping for something lighter and thinner.

The case is fine for what it is. The edge bulge a bit and feel like they are trying to come off even though they aren't

This did not fit the Fire HD kids full display tablet. Very disappointed. I could not stretch the cover to fit the tablet.
