Cheap and cheerful, works fine

This is a perfectly adequate enclosure for an SSD. For a mechanical drive, I'd probably want something bulkier and more rugged to cushion potential drops. The case material is plastic, not acrylic or glass, so it'll definitely scratch with handling. Drive installation is tool-less; the case slides open with mild effort. The cable is 20" from end to end, feels quality, and fits tightly in both the drive and the USB slot.
Installation was immediate on my Windows 10 machine. (If your drive doesn't show up, ensure it has a drive letter mapped to it in Computer Management -> Disk Management.) Connected to a blue USB 3.0 port, it should have adequate power for mechanical drives. My Samsung SSD worked fine from both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. I didn't seriously test speeds, just started a file copy and watched the gauge immediately jump to 200 MB/s. Par for the course; I'm sure it'll max out nearer to 500 MB/s with the right drive. Oddly, the blue LED shows from the bottom rather than the top (relative to the drive's orientation).
While this thing probably costs about $3 to make, it's still good value at $8 or whatever. I'd buy it again.
