Sleek, functional, value

I recently upgraded all my laptops and desktops to SSD devices in an effort to reduce power consumption, and give a little "pep" to my older devices. I ended up with two "extra" 1TB SSDs (just the way the sales worked, and I'd actually planned on putting these internal but i decided I'd rather keep my local copy of cloud content on external drives.
I decided that USB 3.1 was what I wanted (which greatly limited the selection), and I wanted something small with a clean simple design. The clear case appealed to me (and I have to say it's quite attractive -- though I wouldn't recommend it solely based on that).
The instructions to open the cases wasn't very good, but just looking at the case and the imprinted chevron on the top was sufficient to figure out how to slide the top panel off... the drive slide right in, the cover's easy to put back in place, and that's it. Just plug it in.
The cable provided is fairly short, which is perfect if you want to travel with these drives (or take them with you, but you might want to find a longer cable if you're attaching it to your desktop (my system unit is under my desk). Remember, these are USB 3.1 devices, so don't just buy a USB-C cable, make sure it's certified for USB 3.1 data transfer.
It's hard to appraise the speed the case can really sustain, but it seems to be fairly agile -- not much difference between it and my internal drives.
This item represents good value, good quality, and a good looking solution; if you do take this with you, others are likely to comment ask questions about it when they see it (my university students have certainly been curious).
I bought two of these, and am considering the next time I find SSD drives at an extremely good price point to buy a couple more.
