This was a last resort for my service dog training but I wish I would have bought this SOONER! I have no idea why I didnt. I attached a short video on how my training is going. To start off I only shocked him 1 time!!! That's all it took. Now I only use the beeping to alert him and he immediately corrects/listens. Definitely will be buying more.
This training collar is an excellent buy. Nice item and price point.
I have a 14 week old puppy and was concerned that the collar unit would be too big for him. After adjusting the length of the collar (which is quite long), I put it on Rigley and he had no problem with it. I left plenty of extra collar webbing so that I can trim adjust it as he grows. In the provided picture he is wearing the unit with the collar untrimmed yet. I just folded it back and threaded it through the fitting to hold the tag ends until I ready to trim it. So this picture may make the collar look extra bulky.
Using the unit was very easy to understand and operate. The control unit unit works at a good distance from the collar so there is no need to be very close of a correction needs to be sent. Controlling the shock level was also quite easy.
The collar comes with long prongs for the collar which I am sure is needed for longer hair dogs but I think I could have used a set or shorter prongs had they been included. The collar attaches to the remote unit much like a watch band would attach to a watch, with pins. I think an improvement to the unit would be to make it so that you can use other collars on the remote unit if you choose.
I am so far very happy with the overall purchase and with the cost of the item. I am happy with the way my puppy is reacting to wearing it as well as how he reacts to the different typed of warnings it provides -Beep, vibrate, shock.
This collar is amazing! We have a Chihuahua and a Jack Chi! They both can be aggressive. I am so impressed with the behavior improvements since we started using this collar. If my dog wanders from my sight a simple tone will bring him right in. This helps with barking as well. I feel like I have much better control of my dogs when they’re off leash!!
I'm very happy with how easy this collar/remote are to use. There are a few things I love that this remote has compared to others I have tried. 1. There are separate buttons for each mode so you aren't accidentally in the wrong mode. 2. You have to press the level button AND turn the dial at the same time to turn up the intensity, so it won't go up or down on it's own while in your pocket, etc. And lastly 3. I love the lock feature! This remote/collar system really make sure that your pup doesn't receive an accidental beep, vibration, or shock. I've tried other collars/remote systems but none of them had all three of these important safety precautions. It's also nice that I can hook up more than one collar to the same remote too if I decide to get one for my other dogs!
Bought this to help train our miniature poodle. She is a "runner". Sometimes she just gets this wild look in her eyes when out front of the house and bolts. At these times she will not come when called . We rescued this dog from an animal shelter and they think she had lived on her own for a while before they got her. We bought this collar with the object of training her to come when called, which she does 75% of the time when outside the fence. It's only when she gets the wild look and bolts that she won't.
We got her accustomed to the collar for a few days before starting the training. Have taken her outside to begin training on a long leash (spring rollup variety) and let her go. When she gets near the end of the leash, we give the command to come. If she comes, great, if not, we use the sound. So far it has generally stopped her in her tracks, probably wondering what the heck and she has then returned when called. We have tried the vibration mode once with the same result. We have not tried the shock mode yet and won't unless she starts ignoring the sound and vibration. If all goes well, at some point we will take her off the leash.. If she runs, we will then find out how well the remote and collar work over distance. At 30 feet we have had no problems, but this has always been line-of-sight. Battery life is good, we can go several days without recharging, however we are not continuously beeping and vibrating. Our training session only lasts about 30 minutes and sometimes no sound or vibration is needed. I would recommend this device.
I was absolutely terrified about trying this collar. I’d been doing research for over a year and finally decided on this one because of the three modes. I have a partially paralyzed pit mix who is stronger than she realizes and due to her disability is very defensive and has leash aggression. We started with the beeps and vibrate mode and it’s working wonders. She even seems more at peace with going outside and has stopped going outside so defensive and looking for someone to intimidate. I used the static mode once on low intensity and haven’t had to use it again. It also has been a miracle for her barking. If you are on the fence and hesitant like I was... don’t be!! I feel so much more confident and at ease going outside and it’s no longer a dreaded hassle trying to avoid and arrange walks around neighbors schedules. I finally feel in control and have an amazing calm listener on my hands!!! So so thankful and happy I went with dog care!!
I have a busy 9 month old lab who likes to act like a teenager and not listen when called. This was delivered this morning, I didn’t expect much but wow. Just within a couple hours, he’s coming when called. I just have to lift the remote, I have not used the shock option and I hope I don’t have to. His attention is caught with the vibration, which feels like a cell phone vibrating. The batteries charged right up, and I will update again after we use it for longer to give an honest review overtime. I have no complaints as of now. I can’t believe I didn’t get this when he was younger!
The collar fitted and it's easy to turn on, also the remote control is very good and intuitive, the lock feature is excellent. The shock is humane and I have tried on my self , also set on level 20, and it works well on my dog, however the beep and the vibration does the work on training obedience most of the times, I am happy with my purchase.
I have four German Shepherd‘s and recently purchased this product to help with the puppy I like it because you can adjust the power sensitivity no more getting into the trashcan for him he doesn’t even look at it anymore he comes when I hit the alarm and he knows when he gets a vibration that he is doing something ring doesn’t want to do it anymore it only took one time with the electricity and he got the point I wish I used one with my other dogs before this it works great
Ever since our 5 month old DDR German Shepherd puppy was a baby every time she plays with her mother and brother, she has attaches herself to her brothers neck and held onto his collar or his cruff as they were playing and running...it got to a point where she could not run or play together without holding onto his collar and she would become OBSESSED with chasing after him just to sink her teeth into his collar/scruff. We have had this collar for two days and she already is following the commands with just a beep and occasionally a vibration. we have not had to shock her more than three times and only on level 22.
