Amazon.com: Customer reviews: Dog Shock Collar - Dog Training Collar with Remote, 3 Training Modes, Up to 1000Ft Remote Range, 0~99 Shock Levels, Beep, Vibration ,Shock, Rechargeable Remote Shock Collar for Dogs
I received my collar a few days ago and had time to familiarize myself with its functions and capabilities. The remote is a little bigger than I thought it would be , but the package includes a lanyard to secure the remote in your hand. I wish the vibrate function could be adjusted or had a few preset levels as it is very strong. The beeper is adequate and easily heard. The shock function is easily adjusted to a level that suits your dogs level of response. That being said, it would also be nice to be able to lock in a level that can be used in an emergency situation. after the initial e-collar training is complete . Overall I really like the collar and will start my training soon.
Update: So I have been in contact with the company and have received 1 new collar in exchange for the defective one as well as an apology, and 2 for my review. (FYI-Seller says they usually only give free collars for 5 star reviews) Overall friendly communication from them. I will update as to whether these new ones are defective.
This is a review of the Dog Care Dog Training Receiver Collar. After ordering my items from prime the collars were received promptly and in the correct time window. I have two dogs and ordered two collars and two remotes so as not to worry about switching between collars with one remote. The results have been fantastic. We have a husky mix who likes to travel beyond 25 feet from us when walking, she also gets side tracked and runs after rabbits and squirrels. After using the shocking feature a couple times and the beeping after she now responds almost exclusively to the beep. She also with the collar on will stay within 3 to 5ft of us when walking her unless told otherwise. Other pros of this items compared to other collars I’ve used, the ability to lock out the remote as to not shock the dog when not intended, a level control from 0-100, the option of beep, vibrate, and /or shock. Also the waterproof feature is fantastic, we were a bit skeptical because again our husky loves the water but even after being fully submegered the collar operated flawlessly. So far my biggest cons are remote size it’s big but still manageable, the flap that covers the charging port breaks easily on the collar, and the second collar we received will turn itself back on and die after being fully charged even if we turn it off again and again. Other than that a good collar to have and I await to hear from the seller on receiving one or two new collars in exchange.
I have tried everything. My little yapper dog just will not stop barking. He's very stubborn. When I put it on he knows and will obey my every command so I only use the beep mostly. Other times when he's very obnoxious, i use the Vibrate and he stops. BUT as soon as we take it off, he knows he can "get away" with not listening to our commands. UGH. As for the shock, I used it once (the first time) at a very low setting because my husband was the test subject. I know it's rated for a large range of dogs but the setting is from 0-99. I tried 1, 2, 3 and my husband didn't feel anything so I set it to 20 and he jumped. so I use 4-5 for my dog. PLEASE test on yourself before using it on your dog. 6 was just a slight shock for my husband.
Both the remote and collar needed charging when the products arrived. The micro USB cable that came with the remote/collar only worked intermittently (as indicated by the charging light on the collar). The cable was discarded and a spare one I have was substituted.
Our dog licks his paws so much that they will bleed. I wanted to use the collar to stop this behavior. The first time I used the vibration mode. No response. I then used the beeper. The dog was immediately distracted from the licking! Success! The next time he was licking, I used the beeper without success. I then used the shock, set to 15. BINGO. He immediately jumped up, looked around, and stopped licking. For the most part he does not lick when the collar is on, which is a good thing. We will see if we can train him not to lick even with the collar off.
It seems that the collar works as advertised and, except for the faulty USB cable, we are happy with the performance of the collar and remote.
I have had it almost a month and I love the lock function because I almost always have my infant on my hip and she loves to push buttons! All the functions work great. I have an older dog that the puppy plays with and they play quite rough so they somehow make the collar loosen which I do not like because I'm constantly having to tighten it. Also, somehow they now have one side of the nylon collar hanging by a thread. But other than that it has been a great product.
Update: The company has responded and is providing me with some replacements. I will update the written portion of my review when I receive those and have the chance to test them out.
I wanted to say I loved this product. For the first few days, they were great. The beep and vibrate features were enough for our dogs. I charged them every 3-4 days to make sure they are fully charged but they don't stay on for the full day anyways. I take them off at night for our pupa.
Now I'm noticing when I go to take them off the dogs, they are already off. They are fully charged and turning off on their own? This cannot be correct. I don't know if I got a defective bunch or if this is a common occurrence, just be aware if you purchase, this could happen.
I never thought I'd use a shock collar but it became necessary because my dog whose been potty trained decided to make it a habit to pee in the apartment in the middle of every night regardless if we pick up the water bowl early evening and take her out twice more before bed.
ANYWAYS, I'm glad it worked as described, I like how it has a beep as a verbal warning then light vibration then you can choose a shock level 1-100. It only took one night of being put in the kennel and getting shocked after peeing in the house for my dog to stop. HOWEVER, the reason why I don't give it a full 5 stars is because we realized the collar beeps when the battery is low, when you plug it in to charge, when you turn it on or off, etc. Which might not seem like a problem but I realized that my dog started freaking out and having an anxiety attack from hearing that beep because it's the same exact beep that is used to give a verbal warning. So in her mind she thinks she's about to be punished for no reason, EVEN if she isn't wearing the collar and were just plugging it in, she starts freaking out, shaking and panting, Etc. I didn't know it actually trained her so well because we haven't had to beep it since the first night we used it. So I'm glad she knows to be afraid of that but it's not cool that it beeps like that when were not the one causing the sounds. So I think that it would be helpful if the manufactures thought of that and made the beep different for a warning than it is for battery life.
OH and side note, my dog is very small, a 5 pound Maltipoo mixed with Chihuahua. This collar is a little big on her even when it's as tight as possible but obviously it fit well enough to do the job. We just adjusted it to as tight as possible (which is still loose on her but not loose enough to fall off) & we cut the excess off.
We have a 100lb German Shepherd who was an outside dog for years; situation changed and now we had to bring him inside. He kept irritating our cat, getting into stuff around the house, and taking him on walks was a chore riddled with constant leash pulling and interacting with other dogs.
Then we found this collar. It has made all the difference. We started out using the beeps and vibration in combination with verbal commands and now he listens to us probably 90% of the time. We have only had to use the shock twice so far when he engaged other dogs during walks. His attention is so stern on the other animals that he will completely ignore commands, beeps, and vibration. But one quick ping from the collar on level 13 is just enough to get his attention and lead him past the distractions without a whimper.
The only issue I have with the collar and remote is the fact that they charge via micro-USB. Our home runs on USB-C, so it would be a welcome upgrade I hope to see in the future from Dog Care's product lineup.
I would recommend this device to any dog owner who can use the features responsibly. It can make all the difference.
I have a 50lb german shepherd mix who loves to bark at other dogs and he recently attacked a little dog. So I was desperate because I never trained him and I needed to do something to make him listen! I bought this shock collar and I love it. Don't even have to shock him...only need to hit the beeping sound and he already stops barking. The only problem with this collar and the reason it only got 4 stars instead of 5...is the collar strap. The strap doesn't stay put and is always gets loose around my dog's neck. I just spent 15 minutes making it tight and hopefully it won't loosen up as it has many times before. The remote is great and the battery lasts a long while.
We purchased 2 of these. One to use and one as backup. Good thing because one will not hold a charge. We do basically like it as our 7 month old lab responds to it. Usually the buzz feature gets her attention. Shocking is a last resort. I like being able to set the degree of shock. The collar can be an issue as it slides loose and came off on several occasions. Overall we like it but it has some downsides.
