Benedict is a fine talent and he always comes to work prepared. I would rent this one, if I had it to do over, rather than purchase it, but I will watch it again over time. Best car crash, ever! ... well ... maybe that James Bond wreck was close, but they gave us a fantastic wreck in this one. That's worth 4 Stars any time!
A must see for comic book fans. The effects are incredible.. Cumberbach is a good protagonist.. creating an arrogant but in the end likeable hero. The storyline was a little convoluted and the set up was a bit slow. But, once it started to bite, it was an entertaining and sometimes exciting flick. Comic fans.. check it out. If you aren't a comic book fan, this probably isn't a flick for you
I had a ton of fun watching it for the first time in theaters. I was looking forward for the movie to come out so I could watch it over and over. Unfortunately some of the magic wore off after the first watch. It's not like Rogue One, which I watched 5 times in theaters and still loved every second of it.
I did enjoy that it was a bit different than other Marvel movies!
My 2nd or 3rd most favorite MCU movie. Strongly recommend, gives great insight into a character with a great back story. Benedict Cumberbatch definitely earned his payday!
Who doesn't love Benedict Cumberbatch? And he makes a terrific Dr Strange. The plot is a bit overdone (but hey, it's another Marvel Superhero movie, so that's part of the package) but it is your standard, fun, superhero movie, with the added bonus of BC.
Good. Took a while to develop the plot and being an old Strange fan I got bored with the backstory/origin at the beginning. Benedict Cumberbatch was perfect for the role.
Really fun and pretty interesting. It needs the Hulk (Hulk + Strange is the best mix of physical and mystical imaginable). But as is it's worth the price of purchase.
Solid and brilliantly cast. Cumberbatch is perfect as the smarmy surgeon forced to reevaluate his life. Not quite at the Deadpool/Guardians level, but it delivers good action and well designed effects. Updates but remains reasonably true to character and storyline except for some altered artifacts and plotlines that tie Strange in with the upcoming Infinity War series. Marvel continues to excel at developing its characters for film and tv.
I liked this adaptation. I'm a big fan of the MCU, as well as a reader of the old(ish) school comics. I enjoyed the movie, especially 'taken as it is' rather than doing a Movie-Comic comparison.
