Good Landscaping Edging - READ FOR TIPS
Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2019
Overall I would rate this edging good, but not the best. It definitely did the job and looks nice for the price, but only a couple things would have made it great. Buy yourself some extra spikes because there will not be enough at all if you want it to look nice and straight, which is the main reason I knocked down a star. The key is hammering the spikes down, but not all the way down tight. Just make sure the spike head comes down to the designated hole, but if you drive the spike, it will bring the edging walls in. Pull your edging out somewhat tought when laying it out, otherwise the difference in temperatures will allow the edging to move or warp. I spaced my spikes every 5 holes and it seemed to work well. What also makes the edging not great is the connecting piece does not work well to bring end pieces of edging together. The end pieces do not sit flush up against each other, but the connecting piece did enough to hold mulch back.
Even though it wasn't perfect, the edging did the job on a budget and looks pretty good. If you want the a perfect circle, do what I did and tie a string to the base of the tree or bush, but don't tie it too tight that it can't move. Then tie the other part of a string to a spray paint can with the length you want to cover. Then simply walk around the tree spraying the ground with the string out tight. I dug out about an inch around the outer edge so I didn't have to see all of the edging. Check the pictures to make sure I did a decent job. If any of this helped your decision, please mark helpful!
