UPDATE: Contacted Customer Service and informed them about the faulty device I received. Tina, offered steps to troubleshoot the issue, but didn't work. She then offered to replace the device at no charge, but I need something ASAP so I declined and requested for a refund instead. Refund was issued today, and I'll go purchase a different one locally. I'm satisfied with the customer service they have, but not so much the device. So I'll up my rating from 1 to a 3, as the rating is really for the device and not customer service anyway.
I really wanted to love this product. My 4.7l vehicle battery dies out a lot quicker lately because of the winter cold temperatures. I always have someone come jump my battery when it dies. I decided to order this because of the reviews, but I must've gotten a faulty one. IT DOESN'T WORK! When I received the item, it was at 74% charged. I then charged it to 100%. Flashlight works, charging devices seem to work okay, but jumping a car DOESN'T work. I'm so glad I got to try it before going on a long road trip, and having to rely on this in case of an emergency. Purchased it to jump a dead battery, not to charge my iPhone and tablets. It's useless to me if it can't be used for the main purpose it's meant for. I'll be contacting the seller for a refund. I'd rather not waste my time with this and purchase a different one.
Initial review - This product does not work. - The problem with the product is easy to describe, It just does not work. the product looks great, I like the package and it arrived on time but it did not jump-start my car. I made sure it had a full change and tried at least 5 times, I read the instructions carefully it just did not work. Maybe the one I received was defective. sorry, I don't like to leave bad reviews but this product does not work.
UPDATE - 7/23/2018 - The Seller contacted me and apologized for the defective item, they sent a new unit for me to try again their product, I have not been able to try it again and I don't know when will I have the chance to do so (I just purchased a new battery for my car) but the fact that they where concerned about my problem and where quick to help counts so I'm changing my review to 3 stars. I forgot to mention the cables are too short.
I bought this unit for my husband in May 2017. He loved it at first and used couple of times and was impressed by the power that this little device could deliver. However fast forward to June and the input hole where you plug the charger broke ?!!!! We plugged last night and in the morning we saw it loose and we noticed that the connector was gone. We shook the unit and we realized what happened. It does not last.
New Update as of July 21st 2017
I decided to increase two stars because the company after reading my review decided to send me a new unit. However, I will re-edit this review i future. My husband is not using as much as he used before. He had a bad battery in his car and had to jump start the car almost everyday so he used frequently and of course he needed to recharge the unit because he used to charge his phone too. So he used a lot in a span of 15 days. He replaced the car's battery and does not use it often. So far we have no problems with the new unit
Just got the battery and went to website to activate warranty. Instructions say to dishcharge and recharge battery every three months, which is unrealisitic. It is reasonable to expect people to check and recharge the battery every few months. They have a 24 hour chat service which is nice, so I asked. I was told to discharge it first by just turning it on, one time, then recharge it. I was told the device will shut off automatically when it is discharged. I will see how well these instructions work. There is a lot of pressure on their website to leave a review before actually using the product. A free gift is offered. Still haven't found out what it is.
Looks rugged and well built, and came in a nice zipper case. Accessories look to be of good quality.
It arrived with 69% charge, and was up to full charge in under 3 hours. This makes me seriously doubt the 18Ah capacity though. The included charger is rated at only 1a. At that rate of charge it should have taken 5.58 hours to reach full charge, not even accounting for efficiency. When I get time I'll put a calibrated load on it, and post the actual measured capacity here.
I have to be honest, I have not as yet used this device to jump start my car. So for that sole purpose of this device, I cant provide any feedback. But, as far as a portable charging device for cellphones are concerned, i can provide feedback. When received, i plugged it in and charged it to 100%. I then let my teenage son use it for a camping trip in order to keep his phone charged. He has a Samsung Galaxy 8. After just 2 days of charging intermittently, the device had lost all of its power! So if the battery is drained after charging 1 cellphone over the course of 2 days, how in the world will this device jumpstart a car "20 times" on one charge? Seriously thinking of returning this product.
This booster charger is great, however I cannot give 5 or even 4 stars because the description lacks that it comes with a case...at least if it does, it's not easily seen. It was recommended that a case be purchased with this item so I did. Now, the inconvenience of returning the case is not satisfactory. I am pleased with charger, case and accessories included but not the inconvenience.
I only used it once and the plastic handles on the jumper clamps came off.
When I 1st opened the box I charged up the device to 100%. I had a vehicle that needed a jump. I successfully jumped the vehicle. When I began packing the device back into the case the handle plastic casing came loose from the jumper clamp. I was glad this did not happen while they were connected to the vehicle battery. This was very scary. I'm not sure how I would have removed the clamp being that it was only metal no rubber or plastic covering the metal clamp.
Ive used this unit well for a couple of years, including jump starting my own vehicle and several others, including one today at a local park.. For that purpose it works well.
However a month or two ago the input connector broke, and I can no longer charge it. Looking at it, the input connector appears to be weakly attached to the printed circuit board inside the unit, which seems like a design flaw for a product that gets stored in a car. There is also no clear way to open the unit to attempt to repair it.
