After fully charging the device to 100%, it failed to jump start a 3.5L gas engine after attempts of 20 minutes. I returned the unit and then learned from Youtube that there is this "booster" button which will do the trick. I am kind of mad since I read and re-read the user manual several times. Where is the "booster" button mentioned?
I cannot help but suspecting the quality of the product. If the manufacture could not even provide the simple instructions for simple operations, how could they trained their workers properly to make this thing?
Would not start my tractor or lawn mower the DB POWER PACK was fully charged so I got the old faithful jumper cables out and started my tractor and lawn mower...this power pack. may charge a phone or laptop...I received an email from custmer service and apparently the 24 horse power engine in my lawn mower is too big for this portable CAR jump starter to start...maybe that should rename their product to sell phone or tablet power pack since that's all it will charge
I wanted purchased this product to take on a long trip to charge cell phones, tablets, etc.; however, the power outlets keep shutting off automatically after inactivity of 30 seconds making it completely useless as a power source. Even when the light is turned on, the power still keeps shutting itself off. The charge level of battery was always at 100% during my tests. This shutoff problem/feature is not mentioned anywhere in the amazon description or in the user manual (which I did not receive and had to look up on line). A truly bad design flaw. I contacted the company and their representative basically said sorry, not sorry; you'll have to return it. I'd give it zero stars if I could.
This thing is so safe! it prevents electricity from coming out the plugs and conveniently made an annoying beeping noise to tell me it was protecting me!. This way i can not electrocute myself!? thanks technology!
On the bad side, It also does not give output power making the object a useless buzzer. I did not try the usb charger as i don't need that function it i bought a car jumper not a usb power stick. it may work great as a flash light and usb charger but the jumper cable power was a complete fail due to some over zealous safety circuit. Older style non-'safety' types work fine. maybe it works on some modern technological nightmare bmw or Mercedes car but not for my basic electric needs on plain-jane non-circuit wizardry stuff! small easy to return!
I purchased this from Amazon back in January of this year. Luckily, I havent had to use it. I recently took it out of my car to ensure it was still charged and it was dead and just needed a recharge (or so I thought). When I turned it on it quickly indicated 94% then 80% then the display went off completely. I have tried charging it for the past two days and it won't respond at all. After reading all of the rave reviews, I was excited to find a well-priced portable battery but unfortunately my experience was not the same. Dont waste your money on this battery! Wish I could get my money back.
Expensive, product not working, no customer support.
I purchased this 3 days ago because it was recommended on a website, also it has so many good reviews. My car is actually currently sitting in the garage with a dead battery. If you are hoping one day it can save your life, well you are in a gamble.
For reference, I have a middle aged Subaru Forester.
I followed the instruction and I was alerted for connecting the wrong charge on the battery. I switched around and it was still giving me the same warning. So I tried to contact their 24/7 support for 20 minutes and nobody answered. I had the option of either hanging up or leave a voice message. I then went to their website and the support page gave me an error message.
I was still full of hope and watched a few YouTube videos - well I noticed none of them really had to jump start their car. I then came to another video explaining that if the red light is on, the wire could be short circuit. However, there is suppose to be a button for fix all that. When I checked, that button does not exist on my product.
I’m in the process of returning this and I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. I bought a new car battery for $150, putting it in myself. If I can do it (80 lb girl), then I’m sure you can too.
Product claims to be able to jump-start a battery in a small 4 cylinder car. But it doesn't help at all. It doesn't have enough power. This product is a waste of time and money. It doesn't work.
I carefully chose this product, because its description said it could jump-start the battery in my Honda Civic. The battery is only a few years old. The battery wasn't completely dead. The radio played and lights worked. But the battery wasn't strong enough to start the car (in mild 60 degree weather).
But this product completely failed to provide the little bit of extra power needed to start the car.
The seller/manufacturer claims, that it can help jump start a small 4 cylinder car battery, are False.
Don't waste your time or money on this if you need to jump-start a car battery.
I had this in the trunk of my wife's car because she drives an automatic and can't be pushed to start. After reading some of the reviews here I decided to take it out and check the unit, true enough, after barely 3 months in the trunk, the device no longer would respond to being charged. And since so much time has passed as of this writing, I can no longer send it back for a replacement. The product will work as it should, however its internal circuits probably cause a lot of parasitic drain on the batteries that it kills it after a few months. Avoid this product, save yourself the headache.
Bought this August 29, 2018. That was almost 9 months ago to the day that I write this. Initially, the pack worked well. Used it a handful of times to jump my garage queen Miata last summer/fall until I stored the car for the winter. Pulled the jump pack off the shelf today and tried to use it to jump my daughter's car after finding an unexpected dead battery. Aaaaand it's gone.
Was sitting at 71% when I tried it. No dice. No juice, no crank, no nothing. Charged the pack to 100% and tried again on both vehicles. Nothing. This is now a $70 P.O.S. paperweight. Do NOT buy this. You have been warned.
