Love Lizzo and this is a great album, but be aware that you are missing three songs from the deluxe version of this album that doesn't seem to come in MP3 format. The songs are: 12. Boys 13. Truth Hurts 14. Water Me. (numbering is from the deluxe version of the album) I ended up buying the 3 songs separately. Hopefully Lizzo gets the money from it!
Lizzo is one of those rare artist who can sing as well as they can rap, Tink is another young artist that has this ability. I'd like to see both drop a rap album because they are so lyrically strong. Favorite songs: like a girl, juice, soulmate, Jerome, Tempo. I'm late to learning about this talented young lady but better late than never! I hope her flame continues to grow and I love her energy and confidence as she should be because she is so very talented and beautiful.
I recently discovered Lizzo and had to immediately buy this CD. I can't stop listening to it. I love every track, and find myself singing along in the car (when alone, of course -- definitely explicit for little ears). It's a great cd and I'm happy I bought it, and am looking forward to hearing more of her music in the future. If you get a chance, find her Tiny Desk appearance on NPR. It's great too!
I had a friend refer me to "Water Me" a year or two ago and I didn't get it then, but when you put the whole album together, suddenly I've been listening to it for months and trying to find other stuff by her. Nothing else is this (though Worship could easily be added in) - much as nothing else is really Lizzo. Upbeat doesn't quite cut it. All the body-positivity and empowerment and whatever is true, but this is more than that. More like reminding me that I could have a great time at a party after spending a few years wondering why I don't quite get this weird music the kids are listening to. This makes me remember when I would fall for a whole album and leave it on repeat over & over.
