Normally with a book, I have an idea where it’s going to go (in terms of story). Not with Corporate Truth. I think this is what made it such a hard book to put down. It gives you what you expect from a thriller, but not in the way you’d expect it. The more you read, the more the story twists and turns. What makes Corporate Truth different from other books in the thriller genre (I think), is it has multiple thriller stories within the main story. One side story I really liked was how Detective Ross Smith tracked down the Beetle Butcher, while also hunting down the books title character, Justin Truth. The way the two different stories within the books were weaved effortlessly together without touching each other is masterful. And how the Butcher is uncovered… Can’t spoil how it happens. But that is a “what???!!!?” “Damn!” “Didn’t see that coming” moment. This book has many of those moments and what makes it so ‘damn’ good.
