Incredible machine,..built like a tank! Definitely worth the dough!

It IS nice to know we can still do it BETTER than China every once in a while! This rowing machine could not have been easier to assemble (all of 10 minutes, if that much) …...and VERY ROBUSTLY made! I've been a licensed mechanical and civil engineer (now retired) and I know good build quality AND for that matter, "EXCELLENT" design quality as well. Just get on and row! Well,...spend a half hour or so on you tube to look at basic beginner's rowing technique(they all feature Concept 2's , BTW)--- and your off and away! I used to use and still have a gym quality tread mill, but arthritis is really setting in bad in recent years and with all this crazy rain and unusually cold weather in May, it just is too much pounding on the knees and hips so, I do short 5 minute semi-sprints or slow ones, if that's what I feel like, to build up my cardio rate and then hop off and hit the weight bench. I go back to the rower for another 5 or 10 minutes (I put it at resistance level 3 and try to stay around 25-30 rows per minute) and all is well. After those ,I do some curls for the biceps and then overhead triceps presses. I'm 67 this month and am rapidly starting to feel more energy, stamina, and strength. Mind you,...I don't go overboard. I'm just trying to strengthen the muscles that keep my knees, hips and neck in place and the Concept 2 rower is superb for all around cardio w/o too much vertical stress on the knees, hips, and neck! I have degenerative disc disease caused by osteoarthritis ( which is the gradual eroding away of the cartilage in between my neck discs, knee and hip joints.) My mother had the rheumatoid variety real bad, so its probably genetic and in my early retirement, I just did not keep up to snuff w/ physical exercise and gained about 40 extra pounds over the last 15 years. The good life CAN kill ya but; my new mantra is,... all things in moderation! Including the exercise (usually 3 to 4 times a week, though the rower makes it so easy to jump on for some quick cardio any time!
I've had really expensive pieces of exercise equipment that wound up being clothes hangers and dust collectors but not so with this sleek, well built machine! Mind you, don't buy into that nonsense of needing a seat pad for extra comfort or anything like that. The concept 2 seat is just fine even on this tired, old, arthritic, boney, butt! Surprisingly, I do find that, after a session with the machine, I feel stronger in ALL the problem joints! I highly recommend this unit. 100 percent USA made and excellent customer service with a 10 year guarantee! Can't beat that for just under a grand! It really is a no brainer with Prime. Use it (save the packing of course , which is not a complex deal) for a few weeks and if its NOT for you,...send it back for free! BTW....contrary to the website (or Amazon's) description, you only need a 9 foot by 40 inch footprint (IF SPACE IS TIGHT!) Please also note that I'm on the short side at 5' 7" tall and 23" wide at the shoulders and 225 lbs. Leave it set up and don't take it apart every time you finish using it because, although it is fairly easy to "click" assemble from 2 pieces (rail and actual pull chain to activate wind resistance mechanism),... you'll find you won't use it as often (or at all) if you have to take the minute or so to "snap it together!
Hey folks,...spend a small fortune in time, energy, and money buying stuff that I use here on amazon so, if this review was HELPFUL,....well you know what to do! Many thanks ladies and gents!
