Packing cubes are a must to stay organized while traveling. I recently completed a 7 month, around the world trip and these cubes made the trip so much easier. I alwasy knew where things were and when I changed climates I didn't need to unpack things I wouldn't use. There are many different brands on the market. I like Gonex becasue they are durable and offer compression, so you can fit more in the same amount of space.
I've been toying with the idea of buying packing cubes for a while, but never done it because I wasn't sure if it would really make a difference. I bought these cubes before a trip to Hawaii and I was able to fit so much in them! I fit literally 12 bathing suits in just one of the cubes. Once you get part of your pile of clothes in the cube, simply start zipping it up and shoving in the items until the cube is closed. These cubes are so useful and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone!
I have other regular packing cubes but was intrigued by the "compressible" feature. These work basically the same as other cubes - you just put the items in and zip it up but there is an extra zipper that will squeeze the items down so it takes less space in your suitcase. They work great! I recommend using the konmari method of folding your clothes and there won't be many wrinkles. The zippers seem sturdy - so far I have only used these for one trip but I think they'll be durable.
Purchased this because it's lightweight and waterproof. Upon receipt, I found where the zipper ends is how wide the bag opens, which is about 2/3. The thought of one hand to hold the cube while stuffing it does not appeal to me. I have since done some research and found there are quite a few compression cubes that unzip completely for ease of packing. The quality of these cubes seems durable and it's definitely lightweight but the design is not compatible with ease of packing.
I purchased the packing bags to help organize my clothes in my suitcase. Unfortunately, I had to use a smaller luggage bag than I planned so I couldn't use the larger two compression bags due to size. I did test this set with the clothes I planned to bring and while the clothes did fit, you have to use the compression zipper very carefully or it will snag. The bags are sturdy and you can fit several clothing items in them if you pack carefully.
I took these on a few car camping trips already. They are much sturdier than I expected. The largest bag held a full sized bed pillow and the medium bag held 3 regular bath towels. The trick to closing the compression zipper is to hold the bag near the zipper you are trying to close, and push the excess fabric in with the other hand. I previously purchased the Gonex bags with the mesh front, but I like these ones better. I will continue to use both sets.
Design of the zipper causes it to frequently get hung on the fabric that's bunching up with the compression (something other compression cubes don't do). The cubes also don't open all the way, making it harder to pack and to see what clothes are in them after you've arrived at your destination
The sizes are good and the zippers seem high quality. I’m not sure yet about the stitching but so far the set has worked out for transportability and keeping organized. I’d buy more sets if this brand would diversify their offerings and specials. So much for customer loyalty rewards! These are very good soft compression bags (not for protecting delicate items). Love the color. Could be more value since I think they will damage easily.
This is the first packing cubes that I really like. They are lightweight and yet sturdy. For maximum space saving I squeeze as much as air out of each sleeve before zipping it up completely. Just wish they would be made with a see-through material so it is easier to identify the content of each sleeve/cube.
