I received the all-regions version (for those who don't know what I mean, it's formatted to play all over the world rather than a specific region like most movies). It plays perfectly in my PS4. This won't matter to most, but I figured I'd let those who care know.
It came just as ordered and in a timely manner. The first disk took a few tries but it worked and played the movie just fine. The second one does not play nor the third. In the picture you can see some might be wrong with the disk. I saw this on them all, after closer inspection. I never imagined this would happen from Disney but I guess in these days you just never know.
I have to write this review, because I was so worried from all the other reviews that these Bluray discs were not going to work in my Bluray player... I actually put the set in my basket and purchased and then continued to read reviews and ended up canceling the order.
I looked for the movies from other retailers and you can’t even get one movie for the price that this seller at Amazon is selling for all three... So I contemplated how much I had to lose—under $25–and put the movies back in my basket and purchased. I am so glad that I did!
The movies arrived quickly with Prime and in good condition. They looked like all my other Disney Bluray movies. I immediately opened them up and started to play them in my LG Bluray player that I purchased at Walmart a few years ago. The first one played just fine. I skipped through every chapter, and no problems! The second and third discs were perfect as well. Sound was good, picture was good and all the original actors were voicing the characters in English (I had read some reviews that the original actors weren’t voicing the characters...)
And... not only did they play in my LG Bluray player, I tried them out in my car rear entertainment center Bluray player and they worked perfectly in there as well!
So, if they are “fakes”, I can not tell. I will be able to let the granddaughters catch up on 1, 2 and 3 just in time for Toy Story 4 to come out in June! Very pleased, and glad I made the purchase!!
You're definitely taking a chance with these. They're not $22 for just any ole reason. The case for Toy Story 1 was broken inside, which keeps the movie from staying in place while in there. It also skips because it is scratched. The other two cases are also kind of broken so they don't close properly. Not sure if the movies are skipped and scratched aswell. Will up date this with photos later.
I've seen several reviews complaining about a UK release of all three Toy Story movies won't play in North America. The UK (i.e. Great Britain) is in Blu-ray Region B. North America is in Blu-ray Region A. ASIN B010FURLH4 is Region Free.
It will play in any Blu-ray Region: A, B or C. I've tested it in an All-Region player that can be set for any region and the discs are all marked for all three regions. I've also seen complaints some of the discs won't play, or stop and lock up when playing the movies. All three of mine played just fine and I've got a Blu-ray scanning utility that checks disc integrity. All three passed without any track or sector errors.
I will skip reviewing the movies themselves as they are so well known at this point and there are zillions of reviews on them elsewhere (use Google). As I would expect with modern animations, the transfers are impeccable with exceptional audio. This UK release is currently (as of writing this) the perfect "budget" alternative to the US release which is nearly three times as expensive (and IMHO overpriced).
I could not believe the price of the Toy Story trilogy on Amazon. I'd been looking for these movies (or at least the first one) at resale shops like The Movie Trading Company and all were more than this one.
I was very happy to find that these movies are just as good now as they were when they released (and maybe better for those of us who are nostalgic). My toddler grandson had never seen them and tends to HATE watching new movies (we fight him regularly to watch something different for our own sanity). However once these movies started, he dropped everything and was totally mesmerized.
So happy to find classic children's movies at a great price that still hold up with children today.
All 3 Blu-ray’s are great and in English. They all play in my ps3. I’m in the USA. I had read others reviews about the movies not playing or wrong movies 🤷🏻♀️ Maybe they ordered a used dvd . Make sure to read before you buy. Sometimes it might say used. If you’re expecting new but got used you could have clicked wrong. Just check before you order . I’m not saying that mess ups don’t happen. They just don’t happen often. At least in my experience. Anyways the product is what I bought. Thank you.
Toy Story 1 did not work at all, started then went black before any previews or menu options. 2 and 3 worked until a certain point just before half way. Not high quality or compatible for our XBox One that typically has zero issues playing any Blu Rays. This sounds like an awesome deal- but not worth it! I have ordered from somewhere else for more money but I know the quality will be there. Don't buy this set!
This was a birthday gift for my daughter. After opening these on her birthday, we found out the sound didn't work on any of the movies! Since I ordered this in advance of her birthday, the return window closed before I could return them. What a waste of money--I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. EDIT: After several hours of trying to get the sound to play, we found a way to get audio on the DVDs! If you are having this same issue, look at your DVD remote and find a button that says "Secondary Audio" or something of that sort. Press the button and the sound should come on. I've never had to do this with any DVD before, but I'm glad we finally got it to work!
I read the other reviews and surprisingly I had no problems with this one. It's priced as one blu-ray movie so it's a steal. I watched all three Toy Stories with my kids and it all played well on our LG UP970 4K Blu-ray player (July 2017). It has DTS 5.1/7.1 HD English as seen on second picture. French, Dutch, Hungarian, Belgian and Hindi on other sound formats. If you are a discriminating audiophile then buy the 4K version, buy it individually at around $30 each because it has Dolby Atmos. It is UK version but region free because it plays on my US player. Has special features and classic DVD features included. No digital movies. If you're on a budget but want to collect this then this one is for you. Right time to review all films before going to the theater for Toy Story 4 and collecting happy meal toys. Enjoy
