Amazon.com: Customer reviews: COWIN E7 PRO [2018 Upgraded] Active Noise Cancelling Headphone Bluetooth Headphones with Microphone Hi-Fi Deep Bass Wireless Headphones Over Ear 30H Playtime for Travel Work TV Computer Phone - Red
Microphone cut in and out. People on other end of call had a difficult time hearing me. The Bluetooth would cut out periodically. Even the wired connection would deliver static if you moved slightly. Poorly constructed. The sound quality was good but that was offset by the other problems.
UPDATE: COWIN sent me another pair of E7's to try after reading my review above. I told them since I returned the original E7 I had purchased Sennheiser PXC 550 Headphones and I will compare the two. Here is my very honest, objective review of the new E7 they sent:
I did extensive testing. First connecting the E7 with an iPhone 7 and then an Android Galaxy 8 Plus, result: The E7 call quality is still horrible. Everyone (5 different people) I spoke with said I sounded “fuzzy.” Then I had my wife use the headsets and call me...I too heard how poor the call quality was with her using both the iPhone and Galaxy. Then I changed to the Sennheiser PXC 550 to confirm the call quality was due to the E7 and not the phones; the call quality with the PXC 550 was crystal clear and I could be heard very clearly and distinctly using both the iPhone 7 and Android Galaxy 8 Plus by the same 5 people I called with the E7. Finally, I had my wife use the PXC 550 headphones and call me; I too heard that the call quality was MUCH BETTER by a significant factor as compared with the E7.
Regarding listening to music: The E7 was “fair”. The sound was “tinny”; not rich or full. I tested the E7 with music on an iPhone 7, Galaxy 8 Plus, iPAD and a MacBook Air. I replaced the E7 with the PXC 550 and the sound was deep, rich and very full. The difference was night and day.
Lastly, I tested the E7 with movies on a MAC and iPad…once again the sound was “tinny”. I didn’t have the scratching sounds like I did with the original pair of E7s but still the sound was not rich. This time the E7 Bluetooth did not disconnect like the original pair.
Bottom line: The E7 are useless for phone calls and marginal for music and movies. I would not recommend the E7s.
I bought the Cowin E7 Pro headphones to cancel out some of the general noise in my office so I could focus on my work better. The headphones are comfortable and stylish. The materials and construction seem to be of good quality. Bluetooth connectivity was easy with my phone and laptop so no concerns there. The headphones are quiet as they are without the noise cancelling feature enabled., kind of reminds me of the hearing testing booths at school when I was a kid. The earmuff pads are comfortable and form fitting and help to isolate from the outside environment. With the noise canceling feature enabled, the sound stage is very quiet and the sound quality is pretty good. They are not very loud though, so if you are looking to thrash, they are not really made for that. Podcasts are easy to listen to, Music is crisp and filling. These are not $350 premier noise cancelling headphones however, they are pretty good straight out of the box ad I hope they last for a while.
I've had a pair of COWIN's E8 headphones for a while and have been delighted with them. However, when I went to Japan for a month and a half, I wanted to bring something with me that wasn't so expensive but also didn't sacrifice sound quality. Almost as if COWIN could hear my thoughts, there was a lightning deal on these the next day. I bought a pair, took them to Japan with me, and didn't once regret the purchase. The headphones are very lightweight and comfortable, plus they have even better battery life than the E8s. I wore them for hours on end in many different circumstances for many different reasons, and they never let me down; planes, trains, cars, hotel rooms, government buildings, homestays, cafes...video editing, noise control, music, audiobooks, Skype...you name it, I used them for it. As I already mentioned, these DO have better battery life than the E8s. They also track battery life a little better. With the E8s, my phone will accurately track the battery from 100% to 90% and then will suddenly plummet to 20% after hours of playing time--it's as though 90% counts for 21% through 90%. You don't have that problem with these. However, I do feel like the build and sound quality are a little better with the E8s (which makes sense, considering the price difference). The noise canceling leaves something to be desired, as well. This doesn't bother me at all, though, since I don't like noise canceling anyway. Overall, I'm very happy with these headphones. By no means do they replace my E8s, but I also haven't stopped using them since I got back from Japan. Rather, I've started switching between the two depending on the situation.
I tried these for a few days before returning them to Amazon. The sound quality is very good, and the earpieces were very comfortable over my glasses. However there were a number of problems:
- The max volume is far too low for my tastes. Compared with other headphones I’ve used, it’s maybe half as loud.
- The buttons on the right earpiece are upside down and the functionality is wonky. Specifically, you press UP for lower volume/previous track and DOWN for higher volume/next track. Also the short press changes tracks while a long press changes volume. All of this is the opposite of what it should logically be.
- I tried using them with the included AUX cable. I was not able to do so without first turning on the headphones. This is not a helpful feature; I like Bluetooth functionality and the only time I would need to use the AUX cable is when the battery is dead - but this isn’t possible.
- Finally, the swivel to move the earpieces is very loose - not necessarily a matter of poor construction, but it just doesn’t feel right.
UPDATE: After returning these I was contacted by Cowin customer service. They sent me a new pair of E8’s as a gesture of good will, because I had several issues with the ones I ended up returning. (The E8’s are definitely superior to the E7, so make sure you check out the latest model.) They did not pressure me to delete this review, but I did tell them I would add this because of their efforts. I’ve also decided to add back another star for excellent service. So if you are on the fence with ordering from Cowin, don’t stress about it - give them a try, knowing that they will definitely bend over backwards to help you solve any problems you might have. And I strongly suggest E8’s instead of this model.
First let me say this seller has tried to bribe me with a gift card for a 5 star review for a pair of headphone that are trash. The sliver parts on the headphones are extremely cheap plastic that is not nylon imbedded which makes is soft and bendable. The bass quality is horrible. At extreme lows it becomes horribly distorted and inaudible. The headphones smell strongly like recycled plastic and the smell lasts for more then a month. The Bluetooth randomly picks up interference and makes a popping noise. The only quality parts are the metal disks glued to the side of the head phones and the metal band that is glued to the hight adjustment. The only thing good about these headphones is the battery life that lasts about 26 hours on full charge. Do not buy these headphones you can get much better ones for the same price.
Review update 1/29/20 PLEASE BE AWARE- If you purchase this product and leave a one or two rating you will likely be contacted by SCAMMERS- not the company who created this product and they will ask you to remove the review in exchange for replacement headphones or refund to your credit card. Please do not give them your credit card number because they are fake!!!!! Area code 323. I’m not sure how they get your email and phone number but they do get it so stay guarded and report fraud! FYI these headphones STILL don’t work but I can’t seem to throw away my $90.
I added the FAKE scam text below just do you are aware.
Product review update as of 8/9/19: I once loved these headphones. After taking good care of them, minimal use, no damage, etc they just stopped responding. I am unable to pair these headphones with ANY device. They are undiscoverable on my iPhone, iPad and surface pro. Why????? When I turn them on all I hear is loud clicking sounds as if someone is typing on their phone. Just today, the sound kept going in and out and it appears the headphones are randomly pairing with someone else’s device who is NOT inside my home. And then after a few minutes the sound went away completely. I have shut down my phone and reset. I have unpaired the headphones and then went through the syncing process and non of my devices will find the headphones again.
I had previously encouraged my husband to buy a pair because of my favorable review and he has also had issues with the Cowin headphones he purchased. He did purchase a different model number though. At this point, I feel I have wasted my money on these Cowin headphones and the return window has long passed. I tried to give this company a boost because when I thought the product was working well I gave it a very good review. Unfortunately I have to change my review to one star because they don’t work at all and I have done all the trouble shooting recommended on line. I give up. I do not recommend the Cowin E7 headphones any longer.
I put these headphones on my husbands ears while I was listening to one of my fave deep base songs and his eyes lit up like a kid on Christmas morning. He immediately ordered the same pair I own.
I love the look and feel of this product. The headphones completely cover my ears, with a nice grip to keep them in place while I’m walking.
I enjoy watching YouTube videos and listening to any music with these headphones. The deep base sound is so rich. I thought $20 headphones was all I’d ever need but now I’ll never go back to that. Cowin has turned me into a headphone snob and I’m greatful.

This Product is 100% Touchdown kick in the head for all distracting sound that wants to make sure you can't listen to your music or what ever you want to listen to. The bass is thick and rich, and being it is mostly covered in Metal in it's designs the engineers who made this unit made it feather light sitting on your ears. The best feature is the dual connectivity it has (WIRELESS/OR Wired) so you can even use them if your battery is dying on the headphones. That's another thing the battery on this is really top line, I have bought my units a little while ago and still have not had to charge the battery, and my phone keeps on indicating that it is at 100% or 99% and I have already collectively used the wireless portion of these headphones for more than 6 hours. I work alot in my church Media with noisy duplicators and printers, the first time I put these headphones on they completely disappeared I could not even hear them. My wife even tried them on for a few hours and they still were at high battery levels and she even said that my snoring disappeared when she put them on. If you want a headphone that will isolate your sound and keep it close while drowning out/canceling the sounds around you then these are the headphones YOU WANT. I would say there is another company that has a lot of competition coming up against it. There are some sound levels and pitches it won't drown out completely but it drastically reduces those sounds to where it is just a whisper. They are not cheap but you definitely get what you pay for. I have already bought a second one for my wife she loved mine so much, and they come in many color options.
UPDATE - Cowin has sent me a replacement pair of headphones! This makes it right in my opinion and I've changed my review to match. Thank you!! Great headphones with a great 18 month warranty :) -- I'm 34 years old, I'm a responsible electronic user. I did not throw these, drop them, or treat them poorly. I loved them. I always took them off and set them on the table after using. I would go for walks with these on. They were perfect.
And then they broke. They were $100 and they are permanently broken - they still sound good, but the left ear piece is now hanging, the swivel broke and it now dangles uncontrollable. When I try to put the headphones on my ears, the left one won't lay flat but now pokes outward at a 45 degree angle.
I don't have another $100 to spend on headphones like this. COWIN, I await your response and will update this if you reach out. I'm willing to manually fix this even, just PLEASE help. Having used these for only 8 months, listening a few times a week and treating them with the best care, and this happens? I can only conclude they were cheaply made and for a $100 pair of headphones, that is NOT okay.
After about 30 minutes they start hurting your ears. Good sound but useless to wear for extended period( like a run, cutting grass). Truly PAINFUL!! This second time I have reviewed these. After first one they offered my money back for them not being up to par. So I thought, that’s great so I removed my harsh post. But what do u know. I see money go into my account and removed the next day. VERY DIRTY!!! Stay away from these!!!
