Gus has nasal sarcoma with not too much time left to live. He quit eating his dry food because the cancer started pushing down onto the roof of his mouth. He ended up losing 10 pounds in 1 week. I got this for him to try and he started eating again! He regained his energy and his immune system started replying to everything better. I am able to hide his pills in this food and he has no clue! He takes 7 capsules and 1 half tablet of meds. Now it’s like any other day for him once more. In a way he has gained a normal life back a bit by not having to have meds shoved down his throat. He looks forward to eating time again. It’s so great! The Beef Stew flavor also doesn’t stink which is great for me.
I purchased this case of dog food on Nov. 7th, 2015 and it had expired in April 2015. None of my 3 dogs would touch it and they love this stuff. That's when I checked the expiration date. No wonder! With real meat in it, it would probably make them sick. Very disappointed with Amazon for selling expired goods.
Way better for your dog than the crap you get at Walmart or Stop & Shop or BJ's. Too bad it's so expensive. I decided to start making my own canned dog food. Dogs love it same cost all natural ingredients.
Chunky bits of beef and other veggies in a soup like consistency. My dog loves it and we mix it with her dry food. She licks the bowl clean every time! My dog sometimes has a sensitive stomach and gets the farts, but this food doesn't upset her tummy. We will be picking up additional flavors when she's done with these!
I think this is a very quality product. My little Pom is a very fussy eater but he loves this stew with all the nice gravy in it. He has to be fast though, because my cat also loves the gravy and will lick it up before doggie gets to it.
I have a service dog who helps me with vision and other issues. He has severe allergies to chicken products. Most dog foods contain some form of chicken, chicken by products or chicken broth. It was WONDERFUL to find the Blue Promise of NO chicken or chicken by products!

This product came. The can has the promise prominently in big font featured on the can: "NO chicken/by products"; however my dog began to exhibit medical symptoms of gastric distress and behavioral issues. To the vet we went! Turns out in the ingredient list -- despite the Promise on the very same can -- chicken is listed as the third ingredient. I went to a physical store (armed with a magnifying glass!) and did research. It turns out Blue's Stew line does have a form of chicken in EVERY SINGLE VARIETY EXCEPT ONE: beef stew. It took a financial hardship and worse, discomfort for the most wonderful soul in my world: my service dog. I has to get rid of 7 of these cans and it was a financial hardship for a disabled person (happiness is not).
Please learn from my dog's discomfort & my financial hardship (which is why I share my experience).
If your furchild has sensitivities/allergies to chicken or chicken by-products, please be mindful that this flavor is not okay, however I do suggest the beef stew flavor instead as it is the only flavor in this particular Blue line that I have found does adhere to the Blue Promise.
Have a beautiful day, be good to yourself and hug that awesome furchild of yours.
Looks exactly like human food, n well someone might say I'm not a good cook, wrong! The texture n appearance alone is wanting n as a dog owner of two small rescue dogs, I find just opening the can n seeing this appealing food, well you'll want to use n feed your dogs with. Mine gobble up each serving without any fuss. Have been using for quite awhile another dog brand n swore that it was gospel well, they just didn't eat it half the time n wasn't cheap in cost. So, now my dogs are BLUE ALL THE WAY! They get both Blue can food n dry.
Great consistency. Not goopy like some canned foods. Roxy eats this easily and it doesn’t upset her 16 year old stomach. Love the quality of blue buffalo.
