Gus has nasal sarcoma with not too much time left to live. He quit eating his dry food because the cancer started pushing down onto the roof of his mouth. He ended up losing 10 pounds in 1 week. I got this for him to try and he started eating again! He regained his energy and his immune system started replying to everything better. I am able to hide his pills in this food and he has no clue! He takes 7 capsules and 1 half tablet of meds. Now it’s like any other day for him once more. In a way he has gained a normal life back a bit by not having to have meds shoved down his throat. He looks forward to eating time again. It’s so great! The Beef Stew flavor also doesn’t stink which is great for me.
I purchased this case of dog food on Nov. 7th, 2015 and it had expired in April 2015. None of my 3 dogs would touch it and they love this stuff. That's when I checked the expiration date. No wonder! With real meat in it, it would probably make them sick. Very disappointed with Amazon for selling expired goods.
First time I tried this product. Ordered 12 all were fine till the last one opened today. Nearly blew my index finger off; as I lifted the lid, felt an explosive force that blew back the cap, followed by a god awful smell. Finger was tingling like a firecracker went off while holding. The can was completely intact as well as lid prior to opening. Company is aware as well as amazon customer service.
I was excited to try this because of all the good reviews, my German shepard/bouvier mix is picky ,well this didn't do it, turned her nose right up at it, now $42.00 to me is a lot to pay for 12 cans of dog food but I was willing because I thought if she would eat it it would be worth it, she didn't. Figured I could buy stew meat, peas etc and make it cheaper myself, which I think I will try. Disappointed.
My my Rottweiler/Golden Retreiver mix loves it when it's mixed in with his dry food, but for the price especially since it went unheeded another $10... It makes more sense to make your own gravy with chicken and some vegetables.
