Watch the dented cans

I feed my service dog the whole range of blue buffalo products. She is healthy and in great shape. Our vet always remarks about this. If I have a complaint it isn’t about the product, but about the frequency with which we get our case of food with so many dented cans. Cans we can’t feed her because the contents are damaged by the denting and the food smells bad when you open it. My dog serves me, she alerts, and she won’t eat it if we don’t catch the problem immediately. This last case was so damaged and oddly many of the cans facing away from the outside edges were the most dented. I basically paid for 12 cans but got only five I could use. Better packaging? Quality control to catch this? Help me out here. This wasn’t the first time, but the worst.

Fat-filled mess x two cases

I'm a fan of this dog food and have bought at two local grocery stores in single cans, multiple times. The price on Amazon was about .40 cents cheaper a can. So, I ordered a case and each can in had a thick rim of fat around the top and chunks of fat all through the food. The store bought food of the same flavor (beef dinner w/ vegetables) is solid brownish in color with an occasional carrot or other veggie the only different color in the food. Amazon readily exchanged the first case for a new one (thank you), however, when the second case arrived with the same fatty issues and I tried to return it, it now comes up as "Item is not eligible for return." We will not risk feeding this version of the food to our dogs nor are we comfortable donating it to a shelter in this condition. And, we are out $24. Not cool...

Great Product, Poor Packaging

Our dog loves blue buffalo and the product they produce whether it be dry kibble or wet food is top notch. The 4 stars vs 5 is for the packaging and condition that our canned food is in when it arrives. We order the canned food probably once every month and a half and there are always a few cans of the 12 pack that arrive damaged.

Inconsistent texture

The case I received had inconsistent textures amongst the cans. About half of them were regular pate texture and the other half were extremely mushy liquid pate. Not sure if they’ve gone bad, but my dog will not touch the liquidy ones which leads me to think something must be wrong with them. Not worth buying a case and throwing half out at this price. You could tell by shaking the cans which ones were solid and which one sloshed around. I’d rather just buy individually at the store where I can make sure they are all in proper condition and safe for my dog to eat.

I have an exotic breed, a 35 lb. Xoloitzcuintli (Mexican Hairless) This breed is generally very healthy, but can be prone to food allergies. I figured out he's allergic to chicken, which is in nearly every brand! But he does very well on both Blue Buffalo Turkey and Lamb. It has just one protein per flavor, and does not seem to have any artificial ingredients, just vitamins. He's 6+ years old now, and people still ask if he's a puppy, so it seems his diet is doing him good!

Lid tabs faulty
