Good wallet but makes cards dirty
Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2019
I've owned this wallet for about 3 months. Overall, it has been a solid product for the price. It's not the thinnest wallet in the market, but I've never felt that it was too bulky (see pictures comparing the size / thickness vs an AirPod case).
Things I usually have in the wallet:
-1 bank card in the outside sleeve
-2 bank cards in the first inside pocket
-5 business cards in the second inside pocket
-1 driver's license in the photo ID slot
-2 bank cards in the case pocket (with pull-out strap)
A few annoying flaws I noticed about my wallet:
-I like to carry my business card in one of the inside pockets (the one that is in front). However, one edge of my business card (the part that is sticking out) always gets dirty. I can't quite figure out what's making it dirty. It doesn't really touch the bills, and when I squeeze the wallet shut, the cards touch the photo ID slot, though it seems unlikely that the clear plastic would make them dirty.
-The bank cards I slot into the case pocket (with pull-out strap) seems to collect some sticky gunk. The first time it happened, I thought it was something I must have spilled on it, so I cleaned it out. But it kept happening even when I know I haven't used the cards in a while. There must be some adhesive or residue inside the pocket that's soiling my cards (see pictures). Rather annoying since they're cards that looked nice.
-It is very hard to take out my driver's license which I keep in the photo ID slot. The clear plastic seems to stick to my license. Every time I need to show my ID (e.g., at a bar) I end up having to take out my cards in the case pocket and squeeze the edge of the wallet cover to get the plastic cover to peel off my license. It's quite annoying and sometimes embarrassing. I guess the alternative is to hand over my entire wallet to whoever is asking to see my ID, but that sounds silly. I've tried keeping no bank cards in the cover pocket to see if that makes a difference, but it does not (and if it did, it would defeat the purpose of having a cover pocket for additional cards anyway).
-When I wear pants that have pocket linings that are made of cotton or other non-slippery material, it's not always easy to pull out my wallet without also pulling out the pocket lining. My jeans tend to be the culprit. This may not be the case for wallets with a cover with a smoother texture (mine feels a bit rubbery, which is nice, but has this drawback).
Docking two stars for these reasons, but a good product nonetheless.
