I bought this for my wife for a Christmas present and had in in my stash of gifts to wrap. She told me this afternoon if I was planing on buying her this CD, do not. Later on I took the CD to her and asked her why she didn't like it. She said she had heard several of the songs on the radio and there was nothing special about the songs. Nothing to distinguish them from any other recording of the songs. I was surprised because we both love her other music. And after reading other reviews I don't think either of us would enjoy it because we aren't in to the jazz sound very much. So I will be returning the unopened CD.
I read some of the reviews and almost did not purchase this CD. I am not sure what people were expecting but I will share my perception...It is an album for more mature listeners. It is simply arranged with a minimum of fanfare. You can here her voice more than the music. It is paced slowly and is quite soothing in our fast paced world. She has some quiet jazz arrangements for some of the songs but on a whole it is just peaceful and slow paced. I love all styles of Christmas music and own many albums...this is a great addition to my collection.
I love Lauren Lauren Daigle’s music. Her voice is comparable to Adele, but is put to use in a manner that shows her love of Jesus. Her style is to praise the Holy Father, and all he provides, through our relationship with Christ. I only wish there were more albums from her to purchase. I listen on my way to and from work, and can feel the tension lessen!
