I am going to donate this DVD to my mother-in-law's senior care home. I am 57 and fairly fit; bought this to work on flexibility but the exercises are not challenging enough for me and the pace is extremely slow. Also, the narrator's high-pitched "kindergarten teacher" voice drove me batty after about 5 minutes, although I'm sure some would find it soothing. I would recommend Essentrics instead for stretching & balance for those who want a little more of a challenge.
I am fairly fit (walk 30 to 40 min per day) and decided to expand my workout to include some balance activity. I ordered this CD and, after the intro, tried the first ti chi lesson, an easy 17 minute ti chi full body work out. Big mistake. The exercises were fairly easy but they fail to tell you "If you've never done this DO NOT keep up with the instructor the first few times" I did and although it was painless at the time today my elbow is totally messed up. Granted a younger person could have probably handled it OK but sorry graysters...take it real easy.
Having several physical issues, this is "slow & easy" enough that I hope it will get me to a point I can do other exercise. One very annoying factor: the menu where you choose which exercise portion you're going to do, often doesn't work. When it's working, there are boxes to the left and one can click down to the desired chapter. Other times (more than half the time, so far) there are no boxes and you can't arrow down or click on any item to play it. ???? Anyone find a solution for this or is it a defective DVD?
I like this a lot, I have chronic rare disorders and cannot exercise, even though I once was an athlete. But disappointed that you cannot fast forward!! WHY? I was interrupted mid way thru a 31 minute session and accidentally shut it off instead of pausing. I came back and had to sit thru the whole thing again as the ff feature is not an option o this dvd. cannot understand and is the only complaint but enough for me to take 2 stars away.
