BTS is a very talented Korean group made up of seven young men. Each member has extensive musical talents and creativity that contribute to the entire group's strength. While most lyrics are sung in Korean, sprinkled with some English, there are several good websites that provide translation into different languages. I find that reading the English translation while listening to a song helps me understand what the song is conveying without diluting the rhythm or lyrical pattern of the Korean words. I like that BTS uses a message of positive acceptance of self, compassion for others, and sensitivity in how we interact within our world.
The songs on this new album cover topics concerning love for others and love of self. None of the lyrics are explicit or degrading the way they are in a lot of Rap or Hip Hop songs. Each song on this new album has it's own sound - BTS's music never sounds the same between one song and the other the way some groups have a similar sound to all their songs. Each song is a favorite for unique reasons. The first release, Boy With Luv, features US artist Halsey and her voice blends perfectly with the group members. This song has a bouncy fun pop beat, great for dancing. Make It Right has an almost jazzy sound with a soft wound, very beautiful lyrics and harmonies.
I highly recommend adding this album to your collection for the music even if you're not a fan of K-Pop. You'll be surprised at how quickly the tunes get stuck in your head and you find yourself humming the chorus.
