So far about a half hour test this morning. Connected to a scanner for the test. Clean signal with clear sound. So far very happy with the workmanship and product. I like that I can use the accessory plug or direct clamp to the Battery. I haven't tried the USB plugs yet but what a bonus. Small, light weight and so far, very light load, the fan has not turned on. Updated 5-23-19 I tried this out on a extra stereo receiver I have the other day, no outside noise was detected and worked great. I then connected a halogen light, 4 ft, and ran it for about 45 minutes at the same time as the stereo and it worked great. I am very happy with this purchase and now have bought a 1000 w, can’t wait to step my small solar setup further
Used this for a 36 hour round trip car ride. It was nice and helpful to be able too charge multiple devices all at once. Unit did not get unbearable hot to the touch. I never noticed the fan kicking on. Kept my hand near the opening and looked every few minutes or so to see if I could see the fan spinning but never did. Will keep an eye on that. But had my iPhone plugged into a USB port, my wife's Galaxy s8 plugged into the other USB port. Kept both of our phones fully charged. Normally one of us has an issue keeping a full charge while using normal car chargers connected to a splitter. Also had my son's tablet and my wife's tablet plugged into the outlets. Both of those stayed charged.
Unit never over heated and kept everything up and running. Just need to check on the fan and see if I can get it running just to make sure it works.
On a weird note. When plugged into my Prius outlet , both with the device turned on and off, it doesn't allow my car to shut off right away. It's weird as my car will beep at me for about 10-15 seconds and then shut all the way down. Not sure what's causing that but will continue to monitor it.
So far I like that there’s a small green light when turned on and not any bright lights while in use. With the small size thus inverter fits nicely above my cabinets in my toy hauler exactly where I wanted to place it. I’m happy I can use this inverter for my tv/satellite and not need to run my generator to watch anything while I’m camping.
This power inverter is amazing. First, the build quality is super solid. I wasn’t expecting the unit to be so sturdy. Secondly, the unit charged my laptop in record time while charging my iPhone at the same time. Performs like a champ using the cigarette lighter port adapter. The connection wires that are meant to connect directly to the battery are way to short for anything. I’ll have to extend them myself to make them long enough. That is the only thing I wasn’t crazy about. You can’t beat this deal!
I bought the Bestek inverter for back-up power for when we lose power during a hurricane. I used another 200 watt power inverter years ago when we lost power for several weeks. I used an old car battery for power and we were able to operate a light, DVD player and a small tv so my daughter was entertained at night. I used it for two weeks and charged the battery daily with jumper cables from my car. we lost power again during hurricane Harvey. I didn't bother with TV, but I was able to listen to the radio for news and charged many of my neighbors smartphones.
Now, to test the 500W inverter, I hooked up my tv, WIFI, lights, Alexa for music, and a fan, all with no problem. Plus, I was able to brew coffee. I even tested it on my OREK and it worked. I haven't tested my fridge yet.
So far, I believe I am ready for the next hurricane. I bought a new battery for my car which I will eventually have to use anyway. Plus another heavy duty truck battery I found by my dumpster. Probably too weak to crank an engine, but, it"s a treasure for me. In the meantime, I will have it for camping or when I lose power again.
Very sturdy and well made. I used it in a 26 foot Budget truck moving from CA to NC. It powered a multi USB charger used to charge phones, and my Bose speaker for music. The unit never got warm enough for the cooling fan to turn on.
I bought this inverter to run AC power to some computers and network drives. A power supply and battery serve as backup power into the inverter. Thus I wanted quiet and reliable. So far this inverter is extremely quiet. (I'm only drawing 75 watts from a 300 watt inverter and the fan is not even turning). I honestly can't say anything about the reliability yet, but the value for the money is quite good. I measured the AC output voltage at 120v AC using an true RMS volt meter, right on the money.
The overal unit is sturdy built, comes in great packaging and works exactly as described. It comes with a cigarette lighter adapter and clips to hook directly to a battery. Both of the hookups screw down directly to terminals on the inverter. For my installation I had to make new cables with eyelet connectors on both sides. The only potential negative I can see was that the way the screw down terminals worked, the wire didn’t really “clip in” anywhere. I ratcheted down the screw terminal as tight as I could to make sure there was a good connection but if you weren’t watching closely, a thick jacket on the wire or connector could have caused a loose connection. Overall very pleased with the product.
