I enjoyed his first few chapters on instant gratification

At just over 100 pages, finishing this book was still a practice in perseverance. I enjoyed his first few chapters on instant gratification, why people routinely fail, the importance of consistency, and the types of motivation that drive us. But at that point, the book becomes a watered down version of the big personal development books - you get the quotable lines and facts, but not the underlying inspiration and depth of understanding. Like saying, "Eat your vegetables, it's good for you" ... and now you know, but would still rather have those fries. Ever know someone that just learned something, and then proceeds to tell everyone about it and what they need to do? The intention and meaning are there, but it's lacking and incomplete, and somewhat annoying ... and that is how the last half of the book finishes. It becomes a mashup of dictionary definitions, quotes, moments from his story and religious purpose, and the famous infomercial line, "If I did it, so can you!"
Read Quotes of Jim Rohn, Seven Habits, The Edge, The Power of Habit, and Viktor Frankl. They will mean more, and actually inspire to change.
