Worked well for a few days

My unit worked fine for a few days until I noticed that the unit was emitting a very strong burnt plastic smell and when I physically inspected it, it felt hot. I had to unplug it. I only had a usb cord plugged in when this occurred. I requested to get a replacement unit. Will update this review after my replacement unit arrives

Lit my house on fire!!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!! I had one cell phone charger plugged into this “surge protector”. I was sitting home with my 9 month old baby and this product LIT ON FIRE and set my wall on fire. Thank God I was sitting on the couch and caught it immediately. If I wasn’t home my entire house would have burnt down from this cheap product. I bought this product to protect my family, instead it caused a fire. I’m extremely disappointed in Amazon. We put a lot of faith in their products and to have on almost burn down my home does not make me trust them. This product has amazons name on it!

Plugged it in, within five minutes one of the USB connections was smoking. Smoking! Unplugged it, waited half an hour, tried again in different outlets, ones I've used for years with no problems, same thing. The unit still works, but I don't want to burn down the building. Worthless product.

Fire hazard

This plug should be considered a fire hazard. I shop multiple times weekly on amazon and this product is the worst thing ever bought and was recommended as a amazon choice. After a couple times of using it and only having my Bose radio plugged in and a apple pro it started on fire ruining both of my items by arching them out. I have a home with all modern wiring and never had an issue. This is something no one needs to own I was lucky I was in the room when is burst. Beware and be safe

BAD. Bad product

I plugged it into the wall. Outlet close to electric box. Shattered the outlet. Melted the wires together in the wall. I had to find a electrician on a Sunday. Wasn’t the outlet for sure. Had been using a similar product in same outlet !!

Keeps falling out of the wall

I bought this because my apartment is old and prone to the electricity cutting out or energy surges in general. Last thing I want to do is mess up any of my electronics. That this had a USB port where I could charge my phone was a bonus.

While this does work from what I can see, it has one major flaw and that's that it keeps unplugging from the wall. It doesn't stay in snugly and as such, is prone to leaning and working its way out of the wall with even a slight provocation/movement. It's really frustrating to keep having to fix, especially as this is behind a sofa. I thought that this would be preferable to one of those surge protector strips since it's smaller, but honestly it's a pain in the bottom.

I suppose that this wouldn't be awful on a countertop, so I may try moving this into another area, like say the kitchen or bathroom, but as a regular wall unit it stinks. I'm already in the process of buying something to replace this and I've had it for less than a year, if that says anything.

The grounder prong is, in fact, UNgrounded and wrong.

I wanted to leave a five star rating. I really love the price + product combo here and the usefulness of this thing period. I've been using it almost daily but four days ago I noticed the third grounder prong was stuck in the outlet. I don't know how long it has been stuck there. I pried it out (with the power shut off obviously) and tried to see how it had come undone. All I could see is it was really weakly bonded or whatever.
I'm still using the plug, minus the third prong, and I hope that's safe and that I don't set the world on fire somehow.

Quit working after less than 3 months!

This quit working after less than 3 months. I ordered this item so that my wife and I would be able to charge our phones without taking up too many outlets in the living room. It worked ok -- not great -- when we first got it at the end of October 2017. It's now January 8, 2018 and the device doesn't work anymore. I tried everything I could think of and couldn't get it to work again. Not worth the money!

Would not charge both a Samsung Tablet and a smart phone at the same time

Very weak USB charging. Would not charge both a Samsung Tablet and a smart phone at the same time. Was very slow at charging either when only one was hooked up.

The Volcora Wall Mount 1200 Joules Surge Protector, AC USB Charging Multi Outlet with Dual 2.4 AMP USB Ports was much better and quickly charged up two LG-3s with 6000mha extended batteries. It's not worth returning so I'm using it as a surge protector and USB to run a low power bug-fan running off the USB marked with two lighting bolts (indicating for tablets). The bug fan was initially running off a spare 800mha wall charger and seems to be doing OK while it is the only thing plugged in.

Update, the USB stopped running the low powered USB bug fan light. That light has been running fine on a low power 800mha USB wall
charger for several weeks. This USB wall charger/Surge Protector didn't last but one day. I'm taking the time to return it and replace it with one of the Volcora models.

Was really looking forward to this outlet with its convenient USB charging ports. I've never had trouble with any Amazon product before until now. Amazon typically produces great quality products. I couldn't even plug anything into the outlets. I tried several times with different cords to no avail. Maybe I just got a bad one. It was also extremely difficult to plug this into my outlet and I was almost afraid of breaking something while trying to pull it back out of my outlet.
