"" Fraud via Direct TV""

Beware!! There is a phone scam going on. You will receive a phone call from DIRECT TV stating that you will receive a very low monthly charge for your Direct TV and internet service if you will pay 4 months in advance with an Amazon gift card ($240). This is a very sophisticated scam. If you ask to think about it and call them back later, you get the AT&T tone and recording just like the real thing. We fell for it so are out $240. AT&T/Direct TV has been of no help and in fact says they have no intention of notifying customers of this potential scam. Amazon fraud was very helpful and in fact tried to back track the gift card, but in the end could not trace the call (probably because of AT&Ts lack of help. Anyway, I thank Amazon for trying. Our big mistake, so remember, paying for a gift card and giving the cash out number to anyone that promises service is a no, no. We feel stupid, so be smart.

I like the idea of the eGift cards, but when you choose the option of delivery through a text message, the recipient may not get it. Also, there is no way to cancel the order through your account portal...you have to contact someone at Amazon customer service who will then send you an email with a link that you have to go to.
I would not recommend an eGift card through a text message to anyone.

My son and his family live in New Zealand. IN 2016 I sent them an Amazon Gift Card for Christmas with no hassles or issues other than it's limited use. The point is, they got the card. I decided to do the same again this year so I followed the instructions and sent them a gift card for $250.00. Although nothing has changed in the past year the first time I tried sending, it failed to go through and be delivered. I should have realized then I might be better off to just wire them money but I use Amazon quite a bit for business and personal purchases and have always found service to be very good. Until now. The card shows as sent but my son called last night to advise me that nothing has been received. He has checked his e-mail, junk folders, etc and has found nothing. I am 100% certain there is a glitch somewhere, but I do believe that I'd just as soon cancel the order and get my money back if it cannot be delivered.

Emailed gift cards are not always sent within minutes. On the website Amazon states that they can take up to 24 hours and can be cancelled before they are delivered. I chose to cancel my order and buy printable gift cards instead. Now the order for the emailed cards does not appear on my Amazon account, but my bank account has been charged for both the emailed cards AND the printable. I am now concerned that my recipients might not let me know if they have problems with the emailed cards (which they did receive, fortunately).
I would recommend just using the printable option and emailing the PDF. Ultimately, the only thing that matters is the code.
I was also disappointed that I could not use my own gift card balance to buy the gift cards, it seems a petty gesture by Amazon.

Purchased this e-card for my son-in-law. What a pain in the backside!!!!
I have purchased many cards before without a bit of difficulty but, this time the nightmare was exponentially tiresome.
Was never delivered and took over three phone calls to straighten out!

I was supposed to get a 15$ credit with this purchase but it never worked. The add said click here and the code would be added to my account but it never gave me the credit, 18PRIMEGC Don’t believe it.

when purchased i did not know it could not be used for my Aunt to purchase her prime membership. she also could not activate the card because one of the symbols was unreadable. even the help line could not get it to work.

I am not sure why, but this was a really difficult process. I tried to give someone with a Prime membership a Season of Dr. Who. Amazon told me the only way to do that was to send a gift card with the money amount on it. Although my friend was able to receive it eventually, it took several day, several contacts with Amazon Customer Service, and a lot of hastle for the person I was trying to give the gift to. I’m afraid I will have to be more cautious in the future. I have gifted Kindle books in the past with no trouble, but wierdly, giving a gift card seems to be a fraught process.

The card it self is not bad , it is easy to buy one on line and have them send it to your email for easy use.
The problem is that I should not have go through the whole process in the first place. I had an e-card I had won online for $15 , and wanted to use it to help purchase a pair of pants , and use my main card to pay for the rest. I was not allowed to do this because it is Amazons policy that you can not use two different cards to buy anything. I don't understand this policy at all , I mean Amazon is a big company with some of the most sophisticated hardware around. Why can't I use two cards to pay for an item ? What is the reason ? Why must I go through all the hassle to buy an Amazon card just to buy a pair of pants ? Why don't they accept an e-card along with my main card ? Other companies do , why not Amazon ?

Beware of the $10 promo gift on a the purchase of a $50 Amazon gift card. Supposedly they will send you an email with a link within 3-5 business days that will apply $10 to your account. It did not work for me, and I had to get help over the phone, and on chat 4 times total to try to figure it out. I seen a $5 promo on the purchase of a $100 gift card under gift cards, and am really wary and doubtful those work, too as I was contemplating on buying one of those, too. Buy the gift card as a gift card, but don't expect the promo credits!!!

I had a few gift card laying around that I wanted to use for back to school on my kids, parents can understand that school supplies will cost you. Well Amazon will take a 1.00 out of you gift card balance for their cut. OK I'm not for people or company's for doing things for free. However the customer service "person" didn't tell me this so. long story sort my gift card keep getting declined. After the 5th time I just bagged it. I called the gift card company and they told me what was going on. I was trying to trade 100.00 of my gift card for a 100.00 for one of Amazons e-gift card. But I couldn't do that. If was told this I would have put down 99.00 and I wouldn't have been declined 5 times and I would have my stuff and Amazon would have their money. If your doing a normal credit card it will show up as a 101.00 purchases. No big deal if you have 101.00 in the bank or 101.00 on a gift card. Thanks Amazon for giving me the heads up and for taking my money.

What a pain this can be. Amazon needs to rethink their policy. I started to purchase an item that I was going to use my gift card to pay for, but I cancelled the transaction before it was completed. Problem is that the amount was added to my account, though there was nothing to indicate that this was going to happen. I figured if I cancelled the transaction before completing then nothing was getting redeemed. Usually not a big deal but I wanted to give this to another person instead. Amazon said they could transfer the money to their account. It would take 1-3 days. Then they emailed me and told me they wouldn't. So I called again and they held to their policy. I even spoke to a supervisor in the US and he told me there was no way it could be done, which I knew was a lie based on my first phone call. I ended up buying another card to give away. Next day, I got a survey which I voiced my dissatisfaction. I received a phone call from Amazon telling me they could transfer the money to the other account. Too late Amazon. I am frustrated with the poor service and different stories.
