4.0 out of 5 starsSo much angst!

After finishing After, I had to dive right into After We Collided to get more of Tessa and Hardin and this book was just as angsty and full of drama as After!

After We Collided picks up right where After finishes and in this book we get both Hardin and Tessa's points of view which was helpful. Watching the pain these two characters go through to try to find their way back to one another had me on edge throughout most of this book. These two had to go through so much and I felt myself wanting to strangle both of these characters multiple times in this book!

Every single time I think these two may have finally figured things out, and may finally get a chance at happiness something comes up and things go downhill and quickly, but this time it's Tess that seems to do a lot of the misunderstanding and messing up. She jumps to conclusions over and over again and never gives Hardin time to explain before jumping to the worst case scenario and doing something drastic. Granted, she has her reasons with everything he's done, but she ends up hurting them more than helping them so many times in this book. Hardin really has shown he's willing to try to be a better man and has worked so hard to gain Tessa's trust but she seems to throw it away every time he mispeaks or does one thing wrong, forgetting that everything is so new for Hardin and that the relationship isn't just her, but it's both of them in it together.

I really did enjoy the journey that the author took us on in this book and how far we got to see these characters grow so far, but I am want to see things finally start to work out for them and I want to see Tessa start to be more honest with Hardin, especially now that he's doing so much to earn her back and be honest with her! She owes that to him and she can't be keeping secrets from him anymore, it's driving me insane!

I will definitely be picking up the next book ASAP and diving right into it, because this series has become an addiction. If you're a lover of the new adult genre and like angst, this is definitely the series for you!

I absolutely fell in love with the first book and it left at a cliffhanger that had me jumping immediately to this book. At first I was drawn into the roller coaster that is Tessa and Hardin, but I felt like it was very stretched out. I’m an avid reader of books like these.. the first book is usually the meet up, the second is the heart break and reconciliation, and the last book is usually the comeback and happy ending. At the end of the this book, I didn’t get the same feeling of wanting to jump into the next one. I was surprised, but I was like.. why are there still 2 books? How? I had to read spoilers because I was getting annoyed at the drawn out drama. Come to find out, the characters take a series of turns and I can’t subject myself to more drama and no real reconciliation. SPOILER (KIND OF..) I heard the ending was just thrown in without that sense of relief to the reader that they felt that love and connection and went forward with their lives as a happily ever after. This series could have easily been made into 3 books and left some of the useless drama out if it. I won’t read the rest, but I’ll absolutely watch the movies and hope for a more satisfying ending... with a little less of the unneeded drama. Do yourself a favor and just read the end, but I cant guarantee you’ll feel satisfied with the ending.

Do yourself a favor and buy this!! I love this entire series too much! Lol. I actually returned this book because it took too long to get here. I finished the first book more quickly than I thought I would (1.5 days!) so I downloaded the audio version bc I HAD to know what happened next! This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. I love & hate the dynamic between Tessa and Hardin. Got through this book in 2 days. I couldn’t stop! You won’t be able to either. I loved that you get both Tessa and Hardin’s view points. I appreciated Hardin’s character much more once I was able to see what was going on in his mind. Not many books have made me cry actual tears, but this book did. The whole series did. Anna Todd knows how to pull at your heart strings. The series get better and better with each book. You really need to read the first book, After, to understand and appreciate this book. If drama isn’t your thing, you probably won’t like it. I normally wouldn’t like this type of book, but the angst was addicting! 50 shades meets pride and prejudice is a good way to describe it. A MUST READ.

1.0 out of 5 starsIt's pretty bad when the abusive boyfriend is the most likable character in the story
March 31, 2015
Format: PaperbackVerified Purchase
It's pretty bad when the abusive boyfriend is the most likable character in the story, but the wretched girlfriend one ups him repeatedly. I don't think I've ever hated a female character more then the main character in this story, Tess. The book basically consists of her screaming at her boyfriend, Hardin, after promising to give him one more chance. Repeatedly. They have graphic make up sex, and within a page she finds a new reason to scream at him and cry. Rinse, repeat. How many fights can these characters get in before the story ends? I'd tell you to play a drinking game and take a shot every time this happened...but you'd be dead by chapter 7, so don't try it.

Granted, this was a One Direction fan fiction so I guess my expectations should have been ever lower then they were. I guess the only people I'd recommend this would be One Direction fans, or someone looking for 50 Shades of Grey starring teenagers. I can't think of anyone else who would be able to stomach it.

Okay book 1 I was sucked in and loving every second! To the point i am so excited for the movie to come out this Friday! Book 2.... not so much!! This was long... like one of the longest romance novels I’ve read. Do you know what happens in book two??? A whole lot of break up and makeup between Hardin and Tessa no moving forward nothing that would be the normal set up for book 2. Honestly this book was exhausting to read and I’m giving myself a pat on the back for finishing. I love romance and normally books like this are my jam but this should have been cut in half! Way to long and drawn out. I could have skipped 80% of this and still have been good to go into book 3 like I missed nothing.

4.5 stars for After We Collide by Anna Todd. This is book two in the After Series.
“I could easily forgive his pride, if he had not mortified mine.”
Book two picks up right were book one ends. Tessa is devastated by what Hardin did. She thought everything these two felt and had been through was real. She has no idea what to believe and feels absolutely broken.
This series has pulled me in. I can not function right now; it has turned me into a mess. I needed to continue to read to learn what happens between Hardin and Tessa. I feel invested in this relationship. Can Tessa forgive Hardin for what he did to her and to them. I was up in the air about what I wanted to happen between them. I mean How could she forgive what he did, but also how could she put the love she has for him aside. Just ugh! I had no idea how to feel.
This book is different from After because we now get to read from Tessa and Hardin’s POV. I do like that better than just Tessa’s POV.
I am telling you this series is great. You better have a lot of time on your hands because you are not going to want to stop once you start. Oh yeah be prepared for another cliffhanger.

5.0 out of 5 starsEmotional Rollercoaster. Again.

I was so invested in the first book that, naturally, I had to immediately purchase the second installment. I’m not so sure that was a good idea. Not because the book was bad, but because now I am completely obsessed. There’s no going back. I have chosen yet again to get on this emotional rollercoaster & this time I’ve got my hands in the air.

I honestly enjoyed this book more than the first. Mostly because you get to take a look inside Hardin’s mind by reading from his perspective as well as Tessa’s. In the first book, I couldn’t decide whether I loved Hardin & Tessa’s relationship.. or hated it. But now? I find myself rooting for them all the way, as messed up as it is at times. There’s just something so sweet & pure about someone so undeserving of love doing everything in their power to give it. & By taking a little dive into Hardin’s mind, you begin to understand that.

I did not expect to fall so hard for this story, but I did. Before these books, I went to bed earlier & woke up on time. But now, there’s just..... After.

In order to understand the first book better and have more respect for it you must read all four. I read this in a week and felt the crazy connection. I felt the pain and love with endless cycles. This is not your average love story and will leave you on the edge of your seat. I simply could not put these books down. I sobbed more at the relationships in this book than I have with my own. I needed more. I cried, no I ugly cried on the last book before the ending. I wasn’t ready for this to be over with. I only stumbled apon the book series because of the movie. I wish I knew when they first came out. The movie will not hold up to the amazing books, I already know it. I feel empty but have closure from these four books. Never in my life have I read a whole series this fast. Let alone cried along with!

5.0 out of 5 starsWhat an emotional story!
February 19, 2019

This story is a continuation so if you have not read After (book 1) do not read this review or this book (start at the beginning and you will LOVE the craziness of these characters and their relationship)

Tessa and Hardin are two characters that are completely different in every way with the exception of their love for Literature, alcoholic fathers, and stubbornness. A relationship that is doomed to fail because of the way it all started. . . the bet to take her virginity!

Tessa is the most forgiving character that I have ever read but she is also a naive teenager and is having her first real sexual relationship with Hardin. It’s easy to be in love with the simple things but the minute you add sex, alcohol, friends and family to the equation and real feelings which then gives your heart a vested interest in everyone. Every woman wants to fall in love with her Prince Charming but a damaged bad boy who needs to be saved is a relationship that no one is ready for.

Hardin is a beautiful and intelligent man with a very bad reputation. He drinks, lies, and uses anyone he needs to feel better about himself. The little boy that had his family ripped apart due to an alcoholic father and images of a trauma that no little boy should have to endure. Does this give him the right to use the one person that may be able to change him into a living man? Hardin has a bad habit of telling lies and the lies he tells is starting to catch up to him. The fate of his relationship and the trust that Tessa has given to him is hanging in by a thread and he is determined to “ruin” her but it’s unintentional. He doesn’t know how to be a good person and every attempt to change that backfires on him.

A relationship with the lack of communication challenges them until one or both of them are torn apart. When will they decide that they have had enough and move on without further destruction.

It has been a very long time since I have been so captivated by a story. I’m a grown woman, happily married but feel like I am in the middle of this relationship, I feel the emotions of the characters and the hurt that comes with their angry words and stupid decisions. It hurts to see that they are spiraling out of control and you want to slap, save, and hug them. As a reader you are vested in these characters and not every story can bring you this close to their characters! Hang on because book 3 is next ❤️

2.0 out of 5 starsIf you enjoy fighting with someone constantly then this is the book for you!

Let me start by saying I never give bad reviews. I thoroughly love to read and pour myself into books. I don't read like it's a marathon, quickly finishing just to be able to say I read the book. When the character sighs, I sigh. When they arch their brow, I love to arch mine along with. Therefore, grammatical errors and inconsistencies drive me nuts. I don't know if they occur only in the Kindle edition. But there's definitely errors with past and present tense in the book as well. I'm not even good at spotting that, so if I did. . .
I downloaded a sample of the book after watching the trailer for the movie. I wasn't at all impressed but figured it had to be good if they were making it into a movie. I decided to go ahead and buy the book and waited for some substance anything to make me like it. After finishing the first book, I thought maybe the other books are better. Maybe that's where the meat of the story is. Both books contain nothing but the fight between two lovers. Some people enjoy that type of drama in their lives, but still I can't imagine reading 5 books with nothing else in them. I've chosen not to spend anymore money on this series. What confuses me most is that I have read so many good books lately that I felt should have been made into movies. This was not one of them.
