I was going to purchase the Cricut Brite Light for the weeding of my projects but saw it would take a week to receive. Happen to see this light at more than a third less in price and thought why not! Boy am I glad, this was an excellent purchase ! And I saved at least fifty dollars! Great investment and does the same as the higher priced name brand!
I just received this and everything works right out of the box without problems. Pros: Large A3 surface area perfect for Manga/Comic book artists Adjustable light levels from rather dim to a maximum bright enough to easily shine through Bristol board or Copic blending card. The power cord is permanently wired into the unit and extends several inches ending in a female adapter. The included power plug pops into that and ends in a standard US wall plug. Reviews for other brand light boards mentioned the loose power cable but that won’t happen here; it’s solid. Cons Some of the corners seem a bit loose as if the top layer may separate over time. A minor issue at this point and possibly not common. But for an A3 that’s bright, portable and inexpensive I can live with it. If it lasts a year I’ll have gotten my money’s worth. For the artist on a budget I would recommend this.
I chose the A3 sized light board because I knew I needed a bigger size for my diamond art paintings. This has completely changed the game. It makes seeing everything so much easier. It is lightweight and easy to move around. The only thing I don’t like is that I accidentally hit the power button a lot, so I just put one of the provided clips over it when I’m using it because I don’t use the clips to hold my art down.
This is a really great lightbox. Lightweight and plenty bright for most things. Are used 300 pound watercolor paper and it is bright enough to trace as long as your tracing copy is done with black sharpie. Darkening the room helps as well. It has multiple settings high to low which are available with a simple tab of the finger. So far really enjoying it and wonder why I hadn’t purchased it a long time ago. My alternate method was taping up on the window in the sun. The photo below is with black sharpie and arches 300 pound paper. More than doable, I like the connection. I do not see any problems like I read on the other connection type. cord is 6ft. so easily add an extension cord.
Didn't want to spend $150 on an Acurit LED Light Tablet so I did lots of research and settled on this guy. It's solid and works well so far and the highest setting is sufficient for my needs. I sketch on newsprint and other cheap paper and when I create something I want to develop further on bristol or good paper, I trace my sketches. This does the job.
The fit and finish are good, but not like an Acurit tablet. The one thing I like is that the cable is connected and this item is AC powered. I read too many horror stories about USB connections failing in other cheap models.
Another thing: when I ordered, a representative of the seller/manufacturer contacted me and promised good service and a two year warranty, should I need it. That was very nice and professional and this seller gets high marks in my book for customer service. Nicely done.
Don't know about durability because I've had it and used it only for a couple of weeks. I'm hoping it makes it the full two years and if so, I'll be thrilled.
This light tablet is a good value for me and what I do.
Best light pad I've bought! The aluminum frame keeps pad firm and stops the pad torque without adding excessive weight. Frame design also stops the side light spill that annoyingly glares off table tops. This pad is bright enough to be seen through fabric and diamond painting but can also dim (5 levels) to prevent eye strain with thin tracing paper. Unit has a pigtail power cord that is away from the frame to prevent dislodging during use and abruptly losing lighting. Came with power transformer so there is no light flicker and I can move to any outlet in my house. Most surprisingly it came with 2 year warranty. After searching I found an A3 size at the price of an A4 with all of these features! This is my bargain find of the year.
Cons: 1. Not the greatest as far as durability. I received the light pad two days ago and one side of the light board front keeps popping up and won’t stay attached. I don’t feel like waiting on another one to be sent to me, so I used a piece of scotch tape to hold it down.
2. It doesn’t have a USB connection
Pros: 1. It lights up really well and makes it a lot easier for me to do my diamond paintings.
I love almost everything about this light pad. It's super bright, or it can be super dim and pretty much everything in between. It's big and that was a major must have for me. I use it when I'm working on a diamond dot picture, and I am very happy w the product. I only have one issue. It gets hot. The light pad itself get very hot around the outer edge. Basically the frame of the light pad. The brighter you have it the hotter it gets. The plug also gets very hot as well. I'm figuring out ways to work around this issue,bc I love everything else about this product. I just hope it holds up. So far so good. I would give it 5 stars for sure if not for the heating up issue.
