Kick Ass Country at Its Best
Reviewed in the United States on October 8, 2009
Call them too commercial or contrived, but Brooks and Dunn are peerless when it comes to good rockin' country and some mighty fine ballads too. Just about all their best stuff is on this album except "Mexican Minute" from their second album sure would fit in nicely.
This is a nice big dose of their material, a fantastic economical dose of a ton of good music spread out over two CD's. For some the song arrangement might be confusing as they do not present the material in chronological order and might confuse some opening with a new tune, "Honky Tonk Stomp" to open the first disc, but soon it buckles down into familiar Brooks and Dunn territory with classics like "Brand New Man" and "Ain't Nothing 'Bout You" to get the party started which includes tunes like "She's Not the Cheating Kind," a real favorite, "Red Dirt Road" "You're Gonna Miss Me When I'm Gone" and "Boot Scootin' Boogie" rounding out the first disc. Disc two likewise opens with a new tune, "Indian Summer" by drives home with great tunes like "Only in America," "Neon Moon," and "My Maria" among many other familiar tunes. Most of what's on their previous two Grestest Hits albums.
For those who don't have Brooks and Dunn in their library and need a little familiar country music, here it is.
